It's free. On this episode of The Daily Dollop, I'm announcing a little pause and I need your help deciding on what to do next. It's dollop time. Hey, hey, my name's Kate.

I'm a registered nutritionist. And after 20 years in the field of nutrition, I'm tired of seeing people stressed about eating and confused about where to start. And so I'm changing the conversation. You deserve to feel confident in your food choices and empowered to maximize your health.

Every weekday, we'll dollop an episode into your feed covering everything from busting nutrition myths, practical food ideas, my thoughts on trending topics and habits for a healthy life. My promise to you, it will always be sustainable, realistic, restriction-free, and strictly no-woo. Only good science translated into easy, everyday advice. Let's do this.

Hello, hello, everyone. Happy Friday. I'm just popping in today for today's dollop for a quick little update. So The Daily Dollop podcast is actually going to be taking a break at the end of May.

So next week will be our last five episodes for now. And I'm actually super thrilled to be finishing on a high note with a special guest. We've got a psychologist joining me next week to talk all things about ADHD and nutrition. You're not going to want to miss this.

I can't wait to talk to them. It's going to be an epic five episodes. So make sure you stay with me one more week to hear those sessions. They're going to be so, so awesome.

So why am I taking a break? So over the past six months, I can't believe it's been that long already. It's crazy. I've been juggling a lot of things.

So AILA Health, which is my passion project, my life's work, and my current business that I work on now, is a mobile app that teaches people how to eat well for the rest of their life, one habit at a time, and combines learning with doing, with habit-building modules and a meal planning tool. I am so unbelievably proud of this app, how it works, how it looks, how it functions. Every time I look at it, I think to myself, you made that. And it's great.

It's still a work in progress, obviously, as these things are. But we hit the market six months ago. We started in November, December last year. And I'm really, really proud of that.

At the same time, in December, we brought the podcast back after a three-year hiatus. And it has been an immense joy reconnecting with you all through the episodes. And I guess that's the reason why I'm checking in with you now, letting you know where I'm up to, is have you loved The Dollop? I mean, I hope you've loved the rebooted Dollop.

I hope you've liked the episodes, the guests, and the topics that we've covered. And I'd really like to know what you think. But also in the last six months, I've moved interstate from Canberra to Queensland, which has been huge. The biggest thing I've ever done, personally.

It's been a huge thing for me and my family. And happy to say we are feeling very settled now. It's been four months in Queensland. And things are feeling, oh, a lot more stable.

So that's good. I've also navigated my other business, which is called The Healthy Eating Clinic, which is a private nutrition and dietetics practice back in Canberra, who's being run by an amazing team down there. I've navigated that business through some pretty big changes. We've started new teenagers.

Oh, new teenagers. The same teenagers, my two kids, in new schools. I got diagnosed with a night deficiency and realized I'd been doing all those things on very low iron stores, which is why I felt, one, crazy anxious, and two, exhausted. And with the anxiety flaring up again with a vengeance, I've checked in for regular therapy.

So I just need a moment to breathe. This pause is essentially a chance for me to reassess, to think a bit more deeply about how to grow the app, how to spread the word about sustainable nutrition, and essentially figure out where the podcast fits into all of it. And I'm navigating new territory with this business. So it's very different to my other business, which I've spent 12 years building.

And I guess the challenge that I'm facing is how do I compete in a world saturated with extreme misinformation, quick fixes, and big marketing budgets? Because it's actually not enough for me to just share passionately about food and nutrition on this podcast. And believe it or not, the podcast costs quite a bit for us to produce. I need to figure out a way of how we cut through all the noise and how we reach the audience that I created the app to help and support and set free from food stress.

And I guess this is where you come in as my listeners. So if you've been listening to the show for a couple of episodes or the whole time The Dollop's been around or somewhere in between, I would really, really love your feedback. What do you think of the show? Do you hate it?

Do you love it? Are there parts you hate, parts you love? Please jump online, find me on Instagram, Facebook, wherever you hang out, and let me know what's working and what's not. Be really honest with me.

This feedback really helps me understand whether the investment in the show is something that's resonating with you guys, the listeners. Other things I'd love to know is, do you have guest ideas or other topics that you're dying for me to cover? Do you want me to be more opinionated? Do we cover more misinformation and hot topics or myth-busting?

Or do you want more practical meal ideas, snack ideas, talking about nutrition? Or are you loving the mindset stuff where we've talked about food guilt and body image and more psychological aspects of eating? Please let me know. And I guess finally is, would you like The Dollop to return?

So this is just a pause. I am just rethinking where it fits in and how we put it as part of the whole business plan and continue to provide you guys with excellent content and great values. That's something that you're really looking forward to tuning into every day. And yeah, I'd just love to know your ideas and any formats you'd prefer.

So I am on Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Threads. So wherever you hang out, just jump on in and let me know what you think. I would also like to ask you just one last little favor, that if you have loved the podcast, one of the ways podcasts spread is by people sharing them. So if you've loved the podcast and it's really helped you, just share it with two friends.

If we had all of our listeners share the podcast with two friends, we would be massively increasing our reach and sharing that positive message about ditching food stress and helping people think about their nutrition in a more positive way. You can also leave a review, jump onto Spotify or Apple podcasts or wherever you get your podcasts, give me a rating out of five stars. I don't even care if it's one star, just tell me what you think. Let me know.

Or maybe you share one of your favorite episodes on social, post about it, tag me. I'd love, I'd love to see that. So that really helps improve the reach of the podcast. Just gets it to more people.

And yeah, would be amazing if you did that. Your support means so much to me and it will genuinely help me decide what comes next for the show, for AILA Health, and essentially for me as its creator and founder and as a nutritionist more broadly. So thanks for listening and joining me on six months of The Daily Dollop rebooted. I actually absolutely love making this podcast.

I've had a blast doing it. I wish it could be my full-time job and this is all I had to worry about. But alas, I must fit it in with all of the other things that running a small business and, well, I keep saying that, but it's a tech company, to be honest, and everything that is involved in that. And at the end of the day, though, my passion is and always will be helping you ditch stressful dieting and food rules and feel confident and good about what you're eating.

So until next time, don't be a stranger. I am always online. Please say hello, drop me a line, but we'll see you next week for one last week of dollops before the break. Over and out.
