In this episode, British golf expert Tom Jacobs recap the 2021 golf season. First, we look back at which golfer enjoyed the best season. To no surprise, we both pick reigning Open Champ Collin Morikawa. we both admire Collin's consistency and ability to adapt on any course. We also like Morikawa's irons and streaky putting. Then, we look at back at golf's biggest surprise - Phil Mickelson winning the 2021 PGA Championship at age 50. I talk how Phil's age has not affected his driving power or his incredible wedge play. Tom then starts a next round of questions with 2021's biggest improver. I pick Scottie Scheffler. I talk about how many times Scheffler nearly broke through for his first PGA tour win. Tom responds with Sam Burns, who won the Valspar Championship and Sanderson Falls Championship. We also look at a few golfers, who disappointed in 2021. I start with Dustin Johnson, who did not win in America and missed two major cuts. Tom explains how DJ winning The Masters in November 2020 could have affected him this season. Tom is worried about Bubba Watson and interested to see what Justin Rose could rebound. Onto majors, we talk about one guy we feel confident winning a major. I believe 2022 will be when Xander Schauffele will finally win a major. Tom likes Norway's Victor Hovland to breakthrough at a major. We then look into what the rivalry between Bryson DeChambeau and Brooks Kopeka will produce in 2022. Tom believes both golfers could look to market themselves. We look at golfers needing a big 2022. I believe Justin Thomas needs to be there at majors. JT won the 2017 PGA championship, but he needs more on his resume. Tom believes Rory Mcllroy needs another major - particularly The Masters to complete the Grand Slam. Finally, we give a brief preview of the 2022 major season. We also look at how Bryson will fare and Tiger Woods potentially coming back to competitive golf.
