Big Meech & Nicky Barnes Unexpected Rise to Notoriety

from Al Profit Podcast · host Al Profit

Why are black gangsters and kingpins such compelling figures in American society? Perhaps it is because, in a country where African-Americans are systemically excluded from the totality of economic opportunity, the black gangster simply takes what he wants without waiting for affirmative action or someone to pay him for playing with a ball. Cavario's mother was a millionaire in the early 1970's, and his family had their own H stamp brand "Zoom Cancar Boom" sold on 115th street btwn 7th and 8th... the same area that Frank Lucas sold his infamous "Blue Magic". At different times Cavario's mother worked with Leroy "Nicky" Barnes, whose position as head of "The Council" made him the most powerful black gangster of his era. Nicky Barnes would occasionally stop by Cavario's home while he was growing up and his stepfather June worked [ allegedly ] as hitman for Barnes... until June himself was k*ll*d by Cavario's mother.. Vivian aka "V" from 15th street. The Judge let her off with probation and told her she had done "the community a service" by mu7de4ing her man. What the court didn't know as that June had tried to run off with a younger woman... and $500,000 of Vivian's H profits... and that's why she pulled the trigger.Cavario is also the founder of Don Diva Magazine and in 2003, during the peak of BMF and Big Meech's fame he became close friends with Demetrius Flenory and lived with the inner circle of BMF on and off for many months. He felt lucky to have not been included in the indictment... not because he was involved in the narcotics conspiracy, but simply because he was with BIg Meech and BMF so much during 2003 and 2004.
