Big Ten Upsets Shake College Football | Maryland Terrapins Football News

Ohio State’s No. 1 ranking took a brutal hit after a shocking 24-23 loss to No. 4 Texas, who mounted a furious fourth-quarter comeback led by Arch Manning—thanks to a missed field goal and questionable clock management. The Buckeyes’ collapse drops them to No. 6, proving no team is invincible. Oregon also suffered a major upset, falling 39-31 to Oklahoma State, who dominated with over 500 yards. Other Big Ten teams struggled too: Illinois lost to Duke, Rutgers fell to Boston College, and Purdue went to double OT before losing 38-36 to Wake Forest. But hope remains: Michigan bounced back with a win over Oklahoma, while Indiana, USC, Penn State, and Iowa stayed ranked. Maryland, winners over UConn, are gearing up for a big test against Virginia Tech this Saturday—all as the college football landscape continues to shift dramatically.
