Bike Talk - Pandemic Paradox

from Bike Talk · host BikeTalk

What's causing California's 15% increase in fatal and severe traffic crashes when there's a 29% drop in the rate of minor injury vehicle crashes? Co-hosted by S.A.F.E. (Streets Are For Everyone) E.D. Damian Kevitt, himself a survivor of an infamous hit and run and founder of Finish The Ride. Damian brings Bibiana Diaz, who was riding with her step-father, Jorge Guerra, in South Los Angeles last July when Jorge was killed in a hit-and-run. Jointed by UC Berkeley professor Offer Grembek, co-director of the university’s Safe Transportation Research & Education Center (SafeTREC), who harvests data on transportation safety during the pandemic. Dorothy Wong, Bike teacher, activist, and Altadena Town Councilmember, joins in.
