 ਬਿਲਾਵਲੁ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥ ਐਸੇ ਕਾਹੇ ਭੂਲਿ ਪਰੇ ॥ ਕਰਹਿ ਕਰਾਵਹਿ ਮੂਕਰਿ ਪਾਵਹਿ ਪੇਖਤ ਸੁਨਤ ਸਦਾ ਸੰਗਿ ਹਰੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ ਕਾਚ ਬਿਹਾਝਨ ਕੰਚਨ ਛਾਡਨ ਬੈਰੀ ਸੰਗਿ ਹੇਤੁ ਸਾਜਨ ਤਿਆਗਿ ਖਰੇ ॥ ਹੋਵਨੁ ਕਉਰਾ ਅਨਹੋਵਨੁ ਮੀਠਾ ਬਿਖਿਆ ਮਹਿ ਲਪਟਾਇ ਜਰੇ ॥੧॥ ਅੰਧ ਕੂਪ ਮਹਿ ਪਰਿਓ ਪਰਾਨੀ ਭਰਮ ਗੁਬਾਰ ਮੋਹ ਬੰਧਿ ਪਰੇ ॥ ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਹੋਤ ਦਇਆਰਾ ਗੁਰੁ ਭੇਟੈ ਕਾਢੈ ਬਾਹ ਫਰੇ ॥੨॥੧੦॥੯੬॥  Hey brother! I don't know why the living beings) remain astray like this. (Jives (O brother! Jives do not know) why they remain astray like this. (Jives) do all the bad deeds, (then) they also deny (that we did not do them). But God is always with all the jives. Dwells, sees and hears (everyone's deeds). 1. Stay. Hey brother! Trading glass, giving up gold, abandoning true friends and falling in love with enemies - these are the actions of living beings. God's (name) seems bitter, Maya's love seems sweet (-this is the daily nature of living beings. They are always angry because of Maya's love). 1. Hey brother! The living beings (always) remain in the blind (dark) well of attachment, (the living beings are always) wandering, stuck in the dark bonds of attachment (I don't know why they remain astray). O Nanak! Say - The person on whom the Lord is merciful, he meets the Guru (and, the Guru takes his) arm and takes him out (from the dark well). 2.10.96. ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਮੈਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਕਿ ਜੀਵ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਉਂ ਕੁਰਾਹੇ ਪਏ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ। (ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜੀਵ ਪਤਾ ਨਹੀਂ) ਕਿਉਂ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਕੁਰਾਹੇ ਪਏ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ।(ਜੀਵ) ਸਾਰੇ ਭੈੜੇ ਕਰਮ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, (ਫਿਰ) ਉਹ ਭੀ ਮੁੱਕਰ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ (ਕਿ ਅਸੀਂ ਉਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤੇ) ਪਰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਸਦਾ ਸਭ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਹੈ। = ਵੱਸਦਾ, ਵੇਖਦਾ ਤੇ ਸੁਣਦਾ ਹੈ (ਹਰੇਕ ਦੇ ਕਰਤੱਬ) ॥੧॥ਰਹਾਉ ॥੧॥ ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਕੱਚ ਦਾ ਵਪਾਰ ਕਰਨਾ, ਸੋਨਾ ਛੱਡਣਾ, ਸੱਚੇ ਮਿੱਤਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਤਿਆਗਣਾ ਅਤੇ ਦੁਸ਼ਮਣਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਪਿਆਰ ਕਰਨਾ - ਇਹ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਕਰਮ ਹਨ। ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ (ਨਾਮ) ਕੌੜਾ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ, ਮਾਇਆ ਦਾ ਪਿਆਰ ਮਿੱਠਾ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ (-ਇਹ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦਾ ਨਿੱਤ ਦਾ ਸੁਭਾਉ ਹੈ। ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਉਹ ਸਦਾ ਕ੍ਰੋਧਿਤ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ)। 1. ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜੀਵ (ਸਦਾ) ਮੋਹ ਦੇ ਅੰਨ੍ਹੇ (ਹਨੇਰੇ) ਖੂਹ ਵਿਚ ਪਏ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, (ਜੀਵ ਸਦਾ) ਭਟਕਦੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਮੋਹ ਦੇ ਹਨੇਰੇ ਬੰਧਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਫਸੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ (ਪਤਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਿਉਂ ਕੁਰਾਹੇ ਪਏ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ)। ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਆਖ—ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਇਆਵਾਨ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਮਿਲ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ (ਤੇ, ਗੁਰੂ ਉਸ ਦੀ) ਬਾਂਹ ਫੜ ਕੇ (ਹਨੇਰੇ ਖੂਹ ਵਿਚੋਂ) ਬਾਹਰ ਕੱਢ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ। 2.10.96
