Bill Frady critiques the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA)

All right, 2A Tuesday. And all that that entails. Before we get to that, though, let's go back to the third-world, communist, democratic socialists of America because, in addition to it completely taking over the Democrats, at some point, they will refocus because right now they're taking it over from within. And that means they're going to get rid of a lot of the old school establishment Democrats. But then they're going to be focusing on taking over the country, which means they have to get rid of the Republicans. And while we can sit here and I—I'm as guilty as anybody would be of this—I'm sitting here and I'm grinning and I'm popping the corn and cracking the beer with all of this smug self-satisfaction as Frankenstein kills Dr. Frankenstein. I understand exactly what the next phase will be. They used to be a very marginal group committed wholeheartedly to social democracy, whatever that is, but now it's become a major vehicle for the third-world point of view. And in some of these blue hellscapes, where if you—you could show up, anybody, anybody you know could show up and when they start checking the boxes, if you were a minority, a female, and from a, possibly, an Islamic country, they're going to—they're going to get behind you. So they push open borders. They want to abolish police and prisons. They want to dismantle the constitutional checks, and they run daily in solidarity with every enemy we have. So this isn't that lib—you know, very harmless liberal undergrad talk. This is a direct assault on the initiative that built what we are. And if it were left unchecked, which it will be checked, that's with—that's without a doubt, it will be checked. But we would go into—into a hard decline. But the Republicans who dismiss them as a fad are very short-sighted because let's remember what the Republicans have been through. The Republicans went through the Tea Party, and then they absorbed the Tea Party. They're trying to figure out how to absorb MAGA right now, which I don't know if that's going to be nearly as easy a task as it was the Tea Party. But for them, everything is a fad, and the—the George W. Bush status quo is all there is. Now, Michael Harri—the DSA was founded by a cat named Michael Harrington, a secular humanist who came out of the Roman Catholic social justice tradition, and he did this to create a pressure group that would push the Democrats leftward. And he wrote rules to block communists and their influence, but he knew from bitter history how such groups distort—or destroy earlier socialist efforts. But his vision of anti-communist socialism is dead, much like the man himself. Which brings us to the Bernie Sanders wing. During that time in 2016, you had waves of young college-educated activists that flooded the DSA ranks, radicalized by the post-Great Recession economic frustration and this absolute belief that wokeness—despite how fast it went where it went as fast as it went there—never went far enough. And they also infatuated with blue gatekeepers who effectively denied Sanders a fair chance at the nomination because remember, the Democrats themselves kept Sanders from getting the nomination. By the time of the 2025 DSA convention, the delegates scrapped the anti-communist clause and elevated the right to resistance for Palestinians as a central principle. And now half of the national leadership now openly call themselves communist. The DSA that was created by Harrington is a reviled memory for them now. And in its place is an organization that looks at true liberalists—liberalness, excuse me, which that means liberty—true liberal democracy as the enemy. When you look at their ranks, 80% of the adult members, they held college degrees, double the national average, with 35% possessing advanced degrees. For only 4% worked blue-collar jobs, 60% sat in professional roles, often in academia, nonprofits, or government, and the group was overwhelmingly white, far more so than the country it claim ...
