Billie Holidaze and Confused

from shhh...GROWN FOLKS TALKIN' Hosted by Ckseesit and Lola Shanel

The film United States vs Billie Holiday on Hulu centers around the jazz singer and her many troubles she had with the law due mainly to her singing ‘Strange Fruit’ a song about lynching. It also shows her battle with drugs and abusive men. Played brilliantly by Andra Day this film touched on a lot of issues but never showed us what made Billie Holiday a cultural icon still to this day. Carlita the Kwiky Kween and I review and discuss this film in depth. *Spoilers*. Hit me up on Instagram: shhh_grownfolkstalkin Facebook: Shhh-Grown Folks Talking Twitter: @shhhgrownfolks
