from The Cellar Door Podcast · host Tom Massey
Send us Fan MailThe Victorian Alps, also known as the High Country, is some of Australia’s most stunning countryside occupying the majority of Eastern Victoria. It’s a bit of a tourist hotspot, being more or less the home of Australian Alpine Skiing. It's also home to a rapidly developing and exciting wine scene. Here you will find Billy Button Wines, named after the yellow daisies that are dotted all over the Highlands. Billy Button Wines is managed by Jo Marsh and Glen James, two extraordinary wine makers who started the project as an avenue to express their creativity. From 2014 Billy Button Wines has experienced acclaim and growth championing the emerging Alpine region, alternative varietals and a creative wine making vision. When Jo and Glen say they are dedicated to creativity and challenging the status quo with emerging varietals, they mean it. They have access to the regions best vineyards and love playing with grapes like Friulano, and Schioppettino, Refosco to name a few. Billy Button Wines are what you would call trend setters – Jo Marsh and Glen James joined me on the show to share their story and the story of Billy Button Wines. A massive thanks to Jo and Glen for joining me. Support the show
