Billy Mizejewski

Billy Mizejewski is a tattoo artist and owner of Heron Mark Tattoo and Gallery, a lovely studio in West Asheville, North Carolina. When some less-than-compassionate communication from an employee started a social media frenzy that could have reflected poorly on his business, Billy posted a video on Facebook owning what happened, cleaning up, and going the extra distance to affect change in his community. I live a couple of blocks from the studio and was so stoked to learn I had a kindred spirit around the corner wanting to communicate differently. In this interview we discuss Nonviolent Communication, Nervous System regulation, and how we imperfectly practice having empathy for ourselves and others.
