This takes willpower.This is where we have it all wrong. Now, in our defense, we live in a culture that idolizes “self-control” and makes us believe that we’re expected to:Eliminate all processed foodsPractice regimented “healthy” eating, only eating “clean”, “whole” or “pure” foodsWorkout every day Never eat after 8 pmWake up at 5 am and have the perfect morning routine The list goes on.It’s no wonder we feel a deep sense of shame and guilt when we feel we aren’t adhering to the unrealistic expectations placed upon us. With all of that messaging, this might just come as a surprise to you: willpower is a lie. Binge eating is not about willpower.
