Biography Flash Tom Cruise Top Gun 3 Greenlit and Nicole Kidman Near Miss at CinemaCon

Tom Cruise dominated headlines this week at CinemaCon in Las Vegas, where Paramount Pictures officially greenlit Top Gun 3, confirming his return as Pete Maverick Mitchell alongside producer Jerry Bruckheimer. E News reports the announcement followed the 2022 sequels 1.5 billion box office smash, with screenwriter Ehren Kruger—who penned Maverick—already attached since 2024, signaling a high-octane sequel poised to cement Cruises action legacy. This bombshell, dropped during the studios presentation, underscores his enduring box office pull at 63. Adding spice, Cruise in signature all-black attire presented his latest project just 50 minutes before ex-wife Nicole Kidman took the Warner Bros stage for hers, narrowly dodging an awkward reunion. Forbes Breaking News notes the former spouses, divorced since 2001, kept their distance—no face-to-face since, echoing their sidestep at the 2024 Paris Olympics and Cruises Oscar skip when she presented in 2023. Gossip mills buzzed over the near-miss, but sources confirm zero interaction, preserving their post-split chill. No fresh public appearances or social media posts from Cruise surfaced in the last 24 hours, per major outlets, though CinemaCon chatter dominated feeds. Business-wise, this Top Gun pivot weights heavy for his bio—potentially rivaling Mission Impossible in franchise gold—while personal drama keeps him tabloid catnip. Unconfirmed whispers of Dune 3 or DC ties from CinemaCon reactions floated online but lack studio backing.
