Bishop Auckland DLI Association Medals Return to Town Hall

The collection consisting of 146 medals, 5 death-pennies and other memorabilia is an inherited collection and has always been in the care of the Bishop Auckland Branch of the DLI Association. Originally housed for public viewing in Bishop Auckland Town Hall until removed to allow for renovation and kept safely in storage for four years with the DLI Collection, the medals and associated memorabilia have been returned to the Town Hall. Importantly, the medals are back on public display and as an upgrade to the display there are various biographies available via a QR code on the display cabinet linking to information on the DLI Friends website. Work continues with research into the owners of the medals adding to the biographies moving forward.
