Bitter Root

Nerd Escape discusses the comic book Bitter Root from Image comics. Bitter Root is a historical fiction/action/horror comic set in the Harlem Renaissance era in the year 1924. The story follows the Sangerye family as they combat and purify demons or "Jinoo" that were once human. The transformation of humans into demons (Jinoo) stems from the evil bitter roots of fear, hate, ignorance, and racism. Nerd Escape hosts Jublar and Cami talk about the historical fiction setting and how it plays into the structures of Bitter Root characters and plot. Jublar and Cami also touch on how the story and the creators of Bitter Root have impacted them as readers, fans, and advocates. Nerd Escape, everything underrated and overlooked!
