Bitul Torah (Hilchos Talmud Torah 3:13)
from Rambam Bekius · host Rabbi Matt Schneeweiss
Have any questions, insights, or feedback? Send me a text! This afternoon (11/22/21), in our Rambam Bekius chavurah, we began by reviewing and finishing up the halachos we did last week on learning at night. After that, we learned the last couple halachos in the perek about acquiring the Crown of Torah. The major question we faced was: What does this have to do with acquiring the Crown of Torah? These halachos sound like they belong in the first perek, or at least earlier in this perek. We didn't answer all our questions, and we'll see whether we revisit them tomorrow or do something special for my geriversary (which is on Thursday, when we won't be having shiur). This week's Torah content has been sponsored anonymously. May Hashem grant a refuah shleimah to Tehila Bat Ora Sara.Bekius Disclaimer:Note that this is a bekius chavurah - as opposed to an iyun shiur. Each session consists of us reading through the Rambam's writings together without much preparation on my part, and without going into depth by consulting commentaries or primary sources. For all these reasons, there are bound to be inaccuracies, errors, and other types of shortcomings which would not be acceptable in a prepared shiur, but are quite typical of a bekius chavurah.
