With the stunning success of DEADPOOL, the artistic bomb that was BATMAN v SUPERMAN, and a very good but not all-time great CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR — along with some good but inconsistent TV properties — the future of superhero movies is somewhat up in the air. However, the rapid rise in excitement for Chadwick Boseman as the BLACK PANTHER (2018), an incredibly lovable introduction of the new and soon-to-be-best SPIDERMAN, and very cool concepts behind DOCTOR STRANGE and CAPTAIN MARVEL all seem to indicate a promising near-future in the next few years. And let’s not forget GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 2 in spring of 2017, which could overshadow all genre movies next year in how fun it’ll be, including possible STAR WARS: EPISODE 8.
