BizzleCast TV Commentary: FIREFLY Episode 5 “Safe” feat. Matty G

After dealing with Inara's outsider status in the previous episode, it's now the turn of the three new passengers, Simon, River and Book. Joss Whedon himself has mused on the idea that all his shows centre on the creation of family, and this comes into full effect in Safe. The episode starts with a dirty deal gone wrong, resulting in Shepherd Book fighting for his life and River and Simon snatched by some of the planet's inhabitants. When River reads the mind of a mute child, however, she is dubbed a witch and tied to a stake to be burned.
