If you put out an equal playing field the manufacturing will come back to the United States. It will take some time to transition to privatization of the US economy. Trump is saying that you cannot have products on our shelves if they aren’t on your shelves and the tariffs will be the same. There are countries that are dumping their product into the United States and ultimately hurting our farmers, producers, and manufacturers. Trump is leveling the playing field. Howard Lutnick, Commerce Secretary, his department is going through every country and is compiling a list of who is not taking our products and the cost of our products. He will halt all trade if it is not reciprocal. Trump states that he is bringing wealth back to America, there will be a period of transition. Trump is trying to correct 45 years of NAFTA. Trump is tearing off the bandaid. WE have lost 90K factories from NAFTA. In the 90s, we had George H seeking re-election, wrote NAFTA and Bill Clinton signed the bill.
