Black & Blue: Ernie Stevens

We are honored to have Ernest Stevens as our guest. With an impressive 28-year career as a police officer, including 25 1/2 years with the esteemed San Antonio Police Department, Stevens brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the table. Notably, Stevens was the visionary behind the creation of the San Antonio Police Department Mental Health Unit, a groundbreaking initiative that revolutionized the way law enforcement interacts with individuals in crisis. His dedication to improving the profession has earned him recognition on esteemed platforms such as Nightline, NBC's A Different Kind of Force, and the Emmy award-winning HBO documentary Ernie and Joe: Crisis Cops. But Stevens' contributions don't end there. As a passionate advocate for change, he currently trains other police departments in crisis intervention techniques, ensuring that officers across the nation are equipped with the necessary skills to navigate mental health calls for service. In hi audible book “Mental Health & De-Escalation it serves as a guide through a journey of discovery. It provides invaluable training and resources for law enforcement professionals seeking to enhance their de-escalation skills. As the law enforcement profession continues to evolve, it is crucial that our training keeps pace with the changing times. Mental health interactions have emerged as one of the most significant struggles faced by officers on the front lines. Yet, our training in this critical area remains limited, often confined to the police academy and sporadic field training. With Black & Blue, we aim to bridge this gap where we explore the intersection of law enforcement and mental health, and together, strive for a safer and more compassionate future. https://lnkd.in/eDGeazGz #motivationclee #tilmanproductions #passion #perspective #courage #comfortzone #empowerment #inspiration #encouragement #goals #marchforth #grudge #thelab #power #coachclee #onewaypublishing #noble #blackandblue #sgtbsafe #police #lawenforcement #communitypolicing #police #thinblueline #lawenforcement #cops #policeofficer #k #military #policia #army #backtheblue #cop #sheriff #bluelivesmatter #tactical #usa #firstresponders #policecar #policiamilitar #instagram #policeman #swat Workwithclee.com
