We like to call it the Supernatural Hour. And now, our host. Hey, welcome to the Supernatural Hour. This is your very productive Raven.
This is Chad. This is Rogue. This is Emmett. And this is Doc.
It has been a long time since, well I want to say since we've all been here, but we're missing just tonight. Yeah, she said she needs a night to decompress, so. Yeah, so, yeah. Good luck with that.
Just with life, it seems like people have to pop in and out, but you know what? That's okay, because everybody listening has the same kind of days every once in a while. So for the business, we've got some upcoming events. It's spooky season.
Things get pretty exciting. Some upcoming events. Well, yeah, we'll go over them real quick. If you need us in October, sorry, tough luck.
Thursday, October 13th from 7 p.m. to 8. 30 p.m. We're having a library presentation at the Chapman Library in Salt Lake City.
Friday, October 14th. We're having a library presentation at the Central Park Library in Salt Lake City. Friday, October 21st, a library presentation at the American Fork Library in American Fork. And Wednesday, October 26th from 7 p.m.
to 8. 30 p.m. Another library presentation, Springville, the Library in Springville. And Saturday, October 29th from 7 p.m.
to 11 p.m. we're going to do another Dead Talks of Paranormal Experience at the Townhope Theatre in American Fork. So that's a pretty good slate of events for spooky season in addition. And there's more.
And wait, there's more. The Indian Hills Horror Free Haunted Residential Haunt at 2817 West, 950 North in Provo, Utah. We'll be running there, Haunt. They've been doing that for, I don't know, like 17 or 18 years now.
It will be on Friday, October 18th, and Saturday, October 19th from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. And on Monday, October 31st, or Halloween from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Raven, didn't you live cast from there last year? From where? From the Haunt, the Indian Hills Haunt? Yes, we did.
Yeah, that was awesome. I was listening. I just didn't put it in there. Give those TikTokers a preview.
I know. It was a good drop. It was free, man. Every year we get people who come and say, man, I just paid 20 bucks to go to a different haunted house.
And it wasn't as good. So keep that in mind. What do we have about 1800 last year? I don't think my basement for 10, but...
Is it pretty scary? Yeah, yeah. Just don't trip on any crap. Awesome.
Are you talking about your basement? I am. I still have it cleaned up from the earthquake. Yeah, an earthquake.
It's disappointing. You don't want it. The earthquake like two years ago? Like four years ago?
That was a long time ago. Yeah, I know. Yeah. We're four miles from the epicenter.
The basement took the brunt of it, and it's just... I'll get to it. I'll get to it. Alright, so just kind of heads up for those of you that are regular listeners, and if you're not, for shame, you should be.
The next podcast you hear will be our first one in October, and we're doing kind of a... If you know us, we do Halloween spooky. Well, all of our podcasters spooky, we talk about ghost people. But we always do kind of a specific Halloween-centered thing, and that will start next podcast.
So look forward to our Halloween series. That sounds like fun. That's all. Just season.
It is. Our business and events have been brought to you by Otao's restaurant, a fine mixkin restaurant. They're delicious if you're watching this on YouTube. Take a look at those delicious looking plates.
Alright, thanks, Chad. We want to talk about some investigations, but we haven't had any investigations. So we want to talk about our public investigation that I was not at, so I can't wait to hear about it. It's actually a lot of fun, so it was our insiders' investigation.
So if you're one of our patrons, you get to come to an annual barbecue, which is... And I had so much fun hanging out with our regulars that are so supportive all the time. We love seeing you. You know, we tell them, yeah, we bring the main dish and drinks, and we tell everybody to bring sides.
And this is our third year we've done this? Mm-hmm, third or fourth. And I tell you what, our regulars, our insiders bring the most fantastic sides. Those ghost cookies are awesome.
I was going to say, who brought those ghost cookies? You didn't bring me one back. I did, but I ate it on the way, actually. Is it Val?
I think it was Val. The second sear face, but her name was Config. Those were awesome. They were very good.
But I mean, the salad and the mac and cheese, I mean, everything was like, I just got the window. I can't eat carbs, but I did, and I paid for it, but it was worth every... Emmett's wife's mac and cheese is awesome. Oh, it is worth filling the craft for.
Yeah, it's like crack. It is. Yep. But everybody's was delicious.
I thought it was not one thing that was like, no, no, everything is great. And it was really sad that we had leftover Chick-fil-A chicken nuggets to bring home. Yeah, I bet you thought that was real sad. Well, not for very long because my kids had held them.
I was like, hey, I'm going to go down and have some leftover. I guess not. You should have told them. I didn't tell them.
It was just there in the fridge. They smelled it out. They smelled it. They sensed it.
Yeah, Raven has a philosophy that you need to make sure that you bring well more than enough to an event. Well, you know, I can either cook for me or for a small country, so there's no one between four or four. You know, my dad was an Air Force cook in Korea, and he could cook anything as long as it was for a hundred people. That's awesome.
So we ended up investigating, in the words, investigating Payson City Park in Payson, Utah. And Payson, I don't know what it is about Payson, but it's very, everywhere is haunted. We've had mediums there that are like, holy cow, this is the haunted place we've ever seen. Well, you've got Petitney School that we've done our investigation at.
We didn't want to put it at the Dalton's restaurant, which has since closed, but that was an awesome investigation. Yes, we've done two hair salons. We've done countless residentials. And Payson City Park, I mean, you know, like most towns, there's a few, but this is like the main old one.
An old band stand there that's over a hundred years old, a little plug for them. During the summer between Memorial Day and Labor Day, they have a Sunday band concert every Sunday. So go to it. They're fantastic.
They're used to be an old log cabin on the site. They've since moved that. There is an old bear cage. When I say bear cage at one time, you know, back in like the 1920s or something, they tried to build a little zoo.
And all that's left is the bear cage. We've called that for years. And a lot of people don't know that it actually had a bear in it at one time. So now it's, you know, got lawnmowers and stuff like that.
Haven? Yeah. Yeah. Bear cage structure.
No, but it doesn't surprise me. I found a very prominent portal there and our good friend Ethan, who was with us. Hey, Ethan confirmed it. And you know, his gift is so incredible.
He actually defined the shape and size because he could see it. And it was just, it was amazing. That's awesome. And a couple of other people, some of our regulars were there and a couple of them could feel it.
So yeah, it was palpable. It was, it was very much there and it was totally cool. That's awesome. Yeah, there's a, there's a old millstone that's there right across the street is an old mortuary.
It's the site of not the Black Hawk War, the Black Hawk War was more east of us in the Plains area, but there was a Black Hawk War here. The Utah version? Yeah. Black Hawk War 2.0.
Black Hawk War. The data state without an Indian war in it. Right. So just, it's, you know, you drive past anything.
Oh, that's a cute little park, but it's pretty haunted. So wow. I thoroughly enjoyed myself. That was that.
I think that Jason Park was wonderful. Yeah. Ethan actually brought his mom with him and I've known her for many years. She's just neat as lady, but they found a female spirit sitting on a bench.
She didn't know that she had passed. She was a little confused. So we went and... Was that the child or the adolescent?
I think she was more like a teen maybe late days or the 20s. Yeah. So we went and chatted with her. Yeah.
She just didn't know that she passed and she was really confused what was going on. So we just chatted with her and she knew how to cross. She just, you know, once we kind of helped her see that she had in deep past, you know, and we said, you know how to cross and she's like, yeah. So then she left.
Parkville people is pretty tempting to just hang around. Well, and then that park also has quite a large little pond. I know I said large and little in the same. It's like giant shrimp.
Yeah. Or a little pond. It's quite big. So there's some water going on there.
There's a man walking a fox because it is, you know, a small town, Utah. A real man walking a real fox. A real man walking his real fox on the leash. Which is not weird at all.
I actually didn't get a chance to do much investigating myself because I was running here and there and there. But I do know that Skylar and Vivian ran into a type 3. They seem to like Skylar a lot. Oh, they were...
Yeah, that was at the bandstand. Wasn't it? Yep. I remember that.
They were there for a while. Yeah, they were talking that one for a long time. And then two of our insiders, I'll just call them the Bobsy twins. They know who they are.
Who love you. They come to everything to get it. They're fun. They were talking to some spirits.
And we were kind of getting ready to go because, you know, the park has a curfew. I tried to circumvent the curfew. Couldn't. And, you know, I was looking around.
It's just the city park. But you don't want to just leave. And they're like, you know, we're just leaving alone. So I was like, okay, they're gone.
They left. I saw them go. I saw them go. It's like it's just us.
And I was like, oh, we're just kind of standing around talking, you know, and eating cookies. Here they come walking up. Hey, I was like, oh, I thought you'd gone. But they actually spent a lot of time talking to some spirits.
So it was a really good night. Yeah, it was. And thanks to you and Chad for playing host. That was just that was amazing.
I can't wait for next summer. Yeah. And thanks to all of our patrons for making it all possible and making the podcasts possible. Exactly.
Yeah, they do so much for us. The costs of hosting the websites and all of the things that they do. And we really appreciate it. And we have to put friends and real life friends with so many of these people.
And it's just so nice to reconnect with them, you know, all during the season, you know, and when we have events, it's just so good to see them and get caught up again. It's wonderful. Yeah. So thank you, everyone.
Thank you for coming out. Absolutely. And if you want to come and do this next year, you know, we try to take you to, you know, some place that we don't take the general public. If you want to come and just have a really fun, low-key ghost hunt and some fantastic food and even better camaraderie, hop on the patron page and see what works for you.
Yeah, become a patron. And for the mayor here. For the patrons, this event is of no cost other than whatever they decide to bring for the, uh, further side and their monthly patron contribution to help us with the supernatural hour. And with here, you know, there's all different pay levels and, um, you can swag, we send you stuff.
So, yeah. Nice stuff. Yep. Yep.
There are perks, people. Okay. We have a main topic coming up. We do.
So we are going to talk about the Blackbird and this reminds me of this. This is the first time I've heard of this. So I haven't heard of it either, but it reminds me of a nursery rhyme. I love these podcasts because I just learned so much.
I know. I was like, I'm going to cross things and I draw them down and then you research and be like, how have I not ever heard of this? This is kind of cool. Everyone knows what Chernobyl is, right?
Unless you like, who are up under a rock? Yeah, I know what it is. I watched it on TV. I'm an old fart.
We just had half of those nerds. I don't know what it is. We're not listening anymore. Just in case you've been busy.
We never walked out the moon either. And the earth is flat. And it was in April of 1986. I actually remember this really well because I was 16.
Don't do the math. Chernobyl had a, one of their reactors just didn't function very well. And one of the reactors caught on fire and blew up. And to this day, currently, and we'd like to keep it this way, it's been the most devastating nuclear power accident today.
I remember this exactly. It was worse than like Three Mile Island or anything. But I remember this and actually they didn't, the Soviet government at the time did not admit it, but all these other European countries were noticing huge amounts of radiation drifting over their territory. They're calling up.
Yeah, they're calling up one. The reactor four looks like it's having some issues. You all okay over there? Yeah, it's interesting because of the radioactive, I was going to say it's interesting because of the radioactive signatures.
They can actually identify what they, these other countries where the Soviets weren't fessing up to it. They were even able to identify the specific reactor that was having the issue. Yeah, and this would have been at the time of the Cold War, you know, if, you know, if you're not aware of the Cold War, what was going on, you know, especially in the United States at that time, the Soviet Union did not. I just barely old enough to remember, uh, Khrushchev banging his shoe on the table just barely.
Saying we will bury you. Yes. Yeah, but no one wanted to, you know, the United States didn't want to show weakness. So they're like, no, we're just like, you know, and they tried to keep it contained as best they could for quite some time.
Yeah, Russia is a, uh, an interesting country. I lived in the Earl Mountains in western Siberia and a lot of people don't realize that there were multiple nuclear disaster zones. Most of them were buried deep inside the Soviet Union. And so Europe and the United States did not have any idea.
Really, it wasn't until they were able to detect the radiation and you had this incident in Chernobyl where a bunch of fallout blew over Europe that things kind of came to, you know, to light. I lived a couple hours away from the most radioactive spot on planet Earth called the Mayak power facility, a place called Lake Karachai. Does that explain a lot? Does that explain some things?
That explains everything. No, it is. This lake is 10 times more radioactive than Chernobyl when it exploded. How many times?
What's your superpower, Doc? Uh, I don't know. I don't know. Eat a lot of food.
Does that count? Now didn't you say that there were times when you were there, because I've heard some of these things that they would just put out a notice and saying, hey, no one eat the mushrooms this week or no one eat the berries this week, because they came from a storm farm? When I was there, we had a pretty strict set of foods we could and could not eat. Yeah, no berries, no mushrooms, no fish, no pork.
There was a lot of things that, and the reason for that was because a lot of the stuff was foraged in the forests and there's a lot of toxins there and radiation and all this other stuff. It was an interesting place to live and it gave me a lot of insight into how the Soviet Union operated. And they learned more about Chernobyl, you go, huh, that makes sense. They really only fast up to it because I got caught.
I lived in a place that's 10 times more radioactive than Chernobyl and they kept it a secret for years from the locals. They went out to put cancer as a diagnosis when these people got sick. It was interesting. And this was, this was toxic well, well, well before Chernobyl, right?
I mean, they had, you know, poisoned this area. They did dumping radiation there, I think for 50 years now, by the time I've gotten there longer now, but now it just has this basal level of radioactive waste. I mean, a 30 minute walk on the shoreline of this lake would give you a lethal dose of radiation. Did you know about this prior to your arrival?
No, I found out about it when I moved into a particular area and my hair started falling out. So Doc, when you were there, because I'm not sure of the years, was it Soviet Union at the time or had it gone to Russia? No, so I was there in 2003, so the Soviet Union had been dissolved, just remembered, dissolved for a decade at least a little bit more. But you could definitely, there's so many remnants of communism there, there's so many remnants of the Soviet Union.
And you know, I thought, wow, you know, late 80s, early 90s with the fall of the Soviet Union. It was still very fresh in everybody's mind, only being 12 years later, you know? I can imagine. Anyway, so this is not a podcast about nuclear reactors.
So let's say... Kinda is. I know, but people are like when the paranormal part comes in, where? So we talked about, the incident happened on April 26th at about, what, well, at about, precisely when 23 am, is when the reactor four had its major meltdown.
But early in April, there were just these mysterious occurrences that a lot of people were noticing, and there were sightings of a dark, mutated man with gigantic wings, piercing red eyes. Some of the accounts said he was headless, and so the eyes came more, like from the torso area. They would have horrific nightmares and threatening phone calls. And I looked around on the internet a little bit, I didn't see what these threatening phone calls entailed.
But, you know, a lot of people had first-hand encounters with this person, with this thing, person, Blackbird. Entity. Entity. And they said, you know, these, they still, these incidents started happening in early April.
And as April continued on, there was just a rise in these occurrences, you know, getting more. And more and more and more and more and more until boom, the reactor had the meltdown. And this particular reactor, I don't have a number of deaths, and I don't know that even the Soviet Union has a number of deaths, because I don't think they really took, I watched an actual documentary about this. Oh, the Fort Bastards, excuse my French, that had to actually go in there and bury the melted core in sand by hand.
And I mean, they were timed, they could only go in for like five or ten minutes at a time before they received a lethal dose. Yeah, they had, like, they were receiving nothing for pay. It's all my, oh, chaps. They would run people in at 90 seconds.
They were only 90 seconds. You'd go in because if you stayed much longer than that, you got a dose that would be, you know, very, very, very toxic. And you got three shovelfuls of dirt into a wheelbarrow or a cart, right? And then you got to go out.
And then they'd have someone else coming in. And that was, and you're still got to die of cancer one day. Right. Yeah.
But they said the kind of the, in general agreed upon number was a displacement of 336,000 people. Wow. For this. What was the acreage on that?
Did you get a number on that? I suppose it has something to do with like prevailing wind direction and things like that, too. Oh, yeah. No, I didn't focus on that.
I'm sure it's a huge area. I mean, Russia is just so huge. Right. It could be something the size of Utah and be a tiny fraction of the size of Russia.
Oh, yeah. So, you know, like we were talking about before, you know, when it first happened, the Soviets were bringing in helicopters, you know, a sand and dumping it. And not really, you know, these, I don't know if the government knew and just didn't say anything or if nobody knew or what the deal was, but they would bring in these helicopter pilots to dump sand on the reactor. And they were there for way too long, you know, got lethal doses.
But the workers who survived said that they witnessed a large black bird-like creature with a 20 foot wingspan, gliding through the smoke of the reactor. And the way they described it was just gliding, like it was just, you know, checking things out, you know, not like it was under any sort of duress or affected by the heat or, you know, just like it was, huh. And they were just observing it do this. Yep.
And then when... Oh, what is very good in general? Yeah. And then once the reactor had exploded and they kind of, you know, after the initial kind of scene at the aftermath, there weren't any sightings or anything.
There weren't any sightings or any strange incidences again. So could it have been like a harbinger, perhaps? That's kind of what they think, because if you've ever, we've talked about it briefly in some previous podcasts, but we've talked about the Mothman in... Pennsylvania?
No, Point Pleasant, West Virginia. Oh. And it actually has about the same physical description as this black bird of Chernobyl. It also had some of the same, you know, like, wood-brained people, bad dreams, people get threatening phone calls.
And then there's the collapse of the Silver Bridge in 1968. And like, 46 people died in them. And then after the bridge collapsed, no one saw the Mothman again. And she didn't, I'd actually been to Mothman territory.
We just kind of drove through and I saw a sign that said, you're in Mothman territory, I thought that's cool. So we didn't see anything because we were just kind of driving through. But we've been there. On the back.
Yeah. So yeah, so to answer your question, yeah, they think definitely that this black bird of Chernobyl is kind of a harbinger of, you know, a massive disaster. Wow, cool. One of the things that I found interesting with the Mothman in particular in this is, you know, they say he's a harbinger of badness.
And it's something that's trying to warn people that there's bad things coming. You know, what is the intention of it being there besides, I mean, why would you come before a major disaster just to scare the crab out of people? I don't know. Are you trying to get him to leave the area?
You know, what's the purpose of the Mothman or this black bird of Chernobyl? You know, exactly. I don't know. Is it a harbinger?
Is it, you know, something that caused the issue? You know, is that some sort of a massive evil spirit that came in and caused it? A rewarding to us of our own hubris and foolishness. Exactly.
So there are two theories. The first theory, which is the one we've just talked about, is that it is an omen of disaster, you know, through the physical description, you know, the events, you know, the timing, you know, especially where the Mothman of West Virginia and the black bird of Chernobyl, you know, had the same description, same events. Same ammo? Yep.
You know, same outcome of massive disaster, although Chernobyl is a lot more massive. Some have said maybe it's the misidentification of a black stork, which was an endangered species in Eurasia. I've heard of a black chicken, but never a black stork. Yeah, well, it's endangered.
But I just can't think of, you know, hey, I'm an endangered bird, and I know that they don't know they are, but work with me here, I'm trying to be funny. You know, a nuclear reactor just blew up, so I think I'm just gonna go fly through it. I don't know, seems weird to me. And they say that, like, this actual black stork is only three feet tall with a six-foot-things-pan.
Not six feet tall with a 20-foot wingspan? No, and then how would a black stork, no matter how endangered it is, is it gonna call you up on the phone and give you minus-in-phone calls and give you bad dreams? I don't think so. So, I don't know.
I call Nene on the misidentification. That's what I think. Interesting. Yeah, and then as far as the black bird and mothman, like I said before, as soon as the, you know, disastrous event happened, no one's seen it since.
So, if you see something like this, and you get minus-in-phone calls and bad dreams... You might want to clear out? Very bad. Move.
Go visit. You know, it's interesting. Mr. Am.
For without history, there have been other creatures that have had similar, a similar description or will show up or try to, you know, warn people of badness. One of the examples that I came across was the Banshee, where they said, you know, sometimes they're these flying, shrieking things that usually precede... Some bad event or a person's demise. Mother-in-law?
Yeah, you know. As you said that, I realized I'd written that down somewhere. I'm not sure where. But yeah, it said that it was very similar to the Celtic harbinger of doom, is what they call that, the Banshee.
Yeah, and another one was from India called the Garuda. I don't know if anyone else came across this while they were studying. And it sounds like the book, The Mothman Prophecies, was originally going to be called The Year of the Garuda because of the similarities in features. It's a winged creature that would also proceed or pretend to zast her.
And so it sounds like examples of seeing these creatures before mass badness isn't unique to Chernobyl or even to The Mothman story. Right, and if you want to see a Banshee, you just have to watch Star Beow Gail and the Little People documentary. I actually saw that in the theatre with Sean Connery. Was that the Okeel and the Little People?
Yeah, that was the first time I finally know one. Sean Connery in a movie was that one. And the fact that I brought up a movie reference other than Harry Potter is a movie. You mean a documentary?
Yeah, this is a Banshee documentary. And a Leprechaun documentary. Well, we're not talking about Leprechaun. We're talking about Banshee.
There's a Banshee in Darby O'Gillow. There is a Banshee and actually for the time that movie was made, that was a pretty good Banshee. Well, I was little. That movie was scary.
Yeah, I was. That was terrifying. I agree. That makes it cool.
Yeah, definitely. So I just want to say that there's something to be learned here. If it be the Blackbird of Chernobyl or the Mothman, we know that if one of these things appear, get the hell out of there as fast as you can because some shit's going to happen, right? That's what we learned from that.
That seems to be the takeaway. All right. Disasters are coming. So see a creepy thing?
Get scared. Run. 24-winged span. Run like hell.
Yeah, but if you can, get off the bridge. I'm all over that. I will get off the bridge. Yeah, but they did say that this happens before.
It's not just, you know, imminently it's happening a week or so before a few days before. That's why I said move. Go to the grandma. I think that's a good idea.
In a different country. Yes. Or at least in a different country. If it's going to be a nuclear meltdown.
Yeah. If it's a bridge fall. It's talking about Chernobyl. Well, you know, I think we just use Chernobyl as our high point, as our upper echelon.
So yeah, just without the country, see what happens. Decide if you can move back or not. I think so. All right.
The reports of the Blackbird of Chernobyl, the veracity of this and the accounts. And this is one of those things that's really hard to verify from accounts. There was a archaeologist from Sydney, Australia that was there and doing a lot of different things and trying to identify different stuff. And he said the legend of the Blackbird of Chernobyl was something that he'd heard about when he was in the exclusion zone.
And the legend states that in the days leading up to April 26 that the supernatural creature was cited in Chernobyl by many of the people. And Maxwell went on and tells it and he says, it's now become one of those fables that is difficult to track because it relies on the accounts of people who died due to radiation contamination. The Blackbird also has become one of those fairly safe legends where if you try to look for proof, it might not be available because of the workers are dead or maybe the sightings were never officially recorded. So it's one of those things.
Now I hate to put this forth, but I think I read at one time that the alcoholism rate in Russia was very high. I mean somewhere around 50%. And most of the people working at Chernobyl would have been conscripts on guessing or volunteers who desperately needed money. And so you have to wonder about that.
What? They all got drunk on God? They went to work? You've got a high percentage of alcoholics dying from radiation and they are the ones seeing these things.
Or reporting them after the fact. Right. You know, telling the stories, telling the things. I'm hung up on the archaeologist part of that tidbit.
I tell you what, I'm an archaeologist because that is something I could go into with my field of study. I don't want to be digging around in radiation. I would rather be in the sands of Egypt. Oh, if it was a radioactive pyramid, you'd be in there in a lead suit.
Or like digging up bog bodies in Norway or something. I don't want to be digging around dirt and Chernobyl. Yeah, it says, Sydney archaeologist Robert Maxwell is the only archaeologist who has ever worked at Chernobyl completing two field excursions. Yeah, because I'm sorry, you're insane.
Stop it. Go take up stuff that won't kill you. Dead stuff, not radioactive stuff. I'm like 80 years old and you know what?
What has he got to lose? Or 250 years old? There you go. Hey, what is that a segue for?
That's a segue for our insider's podcast. So if you want to hear about that, hop on over to our Patreon page. Alright, well, you know, the black bird of Chernobyl. I never heard of it before.
Sounds cool. In a creepy, I don't ever want to see it kind of away. Basically, the Mothman's Ukrainian cousin. Awesome.
And related to Banshees and what do you call them? Gouda, isn't that a cheese? Not the cheese. Garuda.
Garuda. I thought that was a Star Wars villain. It didn't make the final cut. Wasn't there Gordup?
Count Garuda. Yeah, Count Dooku. So you're thinking of Count Dooki? Dooku.
I never did quite figure out what he was talking about. I can't keep it all straight. Wasn't there Guedo, the guy that Han Solo blasted first? Yes.
It's Guido. Not Guido. Guido's an Italian dude. Greedo, you're absolutely right.
Greedo. Alright, we are way off topic. I think that should about do it for our... Yeah, when we start lapsing in the Star Wars, I think we're done with our main topic.
So our main topic was brought to you by Castle Photo Art and Castle Nature Studio. Go to Castle 4, your photo needs. As we should, it's been a year since we've had those photos and they need to be redone. Yeah, we should get new ones.
Oh yeah. We should have checked this out on YouTube, Advanced Paranormal, Supernatural Hour, as well as TikTok. We have hundreds of videos probably at this point. Yes, we do.
Yes, we do. Yeah, sometimes there's some pictures that are pertinent and relevant to what we discuss. Yeah, we have 250 or so YouTube followers at this point in time and a couple thousand on TikTok. I think we're getting close to 3000.
Yeah, right? So a couple little shout outs to those of you who are listening on YouTube. Thank you. 3,000 shout outs.
We have gotten so many more views. We're just... Yeah, get your friends to subscribe. We really need a thousand subscribers.
We're a quarter of the way there. And I know we have a lot of people. Just go ahead and subscribe. It'll take you one second.
And when you watch the YouTube videos, also hit the likes. That really helps with the algorithms. It's more like... Or done.
And do what we did. I have some more reviews on any of the podcasting platforms. I'm not sure exactly how many people we have listening on podcast, but we're on iHeartRadio. We're on Apple.
We're on Spotify. And yeah, the more five star reviews and the more subscribers we have, the more likely other people are to find our content. Yeah, do what we do. Just force all your friends and family neighbors to subscribe.
It's really easy. You just split up on your phone and say, hey, what's your login for him? Just get me. Okay.
Emma, what have you got for us for a new segment today? Thank you. Today, rather than talk about some of two's piece of gear, what's it? This is being broadcast.
I attended Phenomicon in Vernal Utah last weekend. And I met up with my friends at Skinwalker Ranch, the cast that I worked with last year, and reconnected with them. Had a wonderful time. If you're not familiar with it, Phenomicon is pretty much catered to the UFO crowd and the big and encrypted crowd.
But it's very well attended for a tiny little pote on town in the middle of nowhere, Utah. And Vernal does have a very nice convention center. And they have dinosaurs. But I got the dinosaurs, exactly.
Ooh. Tons of dinosaurs. Tons of aliens. I brought my own with me.
But I got to talk to them again. And there may be news concerning Skinwalker Ranch and Emma. Stay tuned for that if there is. I also met some of you may have heard of her author Cheryl Lynn Carter.
And she was just the most awesome person. We actually spent several hours together just talking. It turns out that she's also sensitive, very gifted, sensitive. And just had a wonderful time there.
I met some other personalities. I got to see April Slaughter. Some of you may have seen her on some of the shows. She's actually a resident of Utah.
So we've got a lot of paranormal names living in the area. Awesome. So that's it. Just kind of a report from Vernal, Utah and Phenomicon and the Skinwalker Ranch crowd.
Awesome. Thank you. All right. We're really lucky to have him on our team and being so popular.
He's like, he's a famous little baster. Well, I was there during the Skinwalker panel. I only attended for Saturday. I couldn't get up there for Saturday.
But I managed to talk to the cast before their panel. Well, they were up there talking. The episode that I was on with my friends Rich Tenny and Dave Mulm. They were both part of that team very much so they just don't happen to be paranormal investigators also and don't attend UFO conventions.
So, which episode was that? That was season three, episode four. So that episode keeps coming up as the cast's favorite episode to date. Just because we actually got the best UFO or IAP footage evidence to date and it was witnessed by everybody there.
That's awesome. The cast, the crew. You don't see it. You just see the cast and whatever guest investigators they happen to have with them.
But there are at least a dozen other production people there filming on sound producers. It's pretty busy. Do you know the title or the topic of the episode? What was the main thing?
It's called Scoped Out. Scoped Out is the title of the episode. It was originally broadcast in May. So you should be able to stream that from the History Channel or your favorite streaming service.
Yeah. If they're filming season four right now and here's some news. Instead of just 10 episodes next season, they're going to have 14. Oh, very awesome.
So that's cool. All right. How many of those episodes do you think you're going to be in? I would be, I don't know.
And he's probably not a liberty to say. We'll see. That's impossible. We will see.
We will see. We'll be watching. All right. Well, that's awesome in it.
That's all I've got. One more thing. Wait a minute. Wait a minute.
This is important. Waiting. Yep. While they were talking about that episode, Travis actually mentioned that one of the astronomers from that episode was in the audience and he mentioned my name is Jug.
Stand up. And I did and I received a solid round of applause. Aww. Very satisfying.
One of Emmett's many talents is also an astronomer. And that's why I was called there. Not as a paranormal investigator but as an astronomer. Of course I did sneak some paranormal gear on there and we'll save that for another podcast.
Awesome. So Jess isn't here. So we'll hear about her Stone next podcast. As far as the paranormal junk drawer, I also went somewhere.
I'm Chad Golfed all day. So I went to the Audities and Curiosity Expo that they had in Sandy, Utah. And so I just wanted to tell you about it. I think it was really cool.
But there's a but. There were so many people there that I don't know. I just couldn't get to the boost very well. I don't like a lot of people.
What do I mean by that? I mean, I don't. Do tell. Hey people.
Big crowds. Wow. I'm really anxious. I don't like to be around a ton of people.
And so I walked in. I got there and there's so many people. I thought, Holy cow. But I noticed there was a gun show too.
And I'm like, oh, gee, Ty. Everyone's in the gun show. No. No.
Everyone is at the Audities and Curiosity Expo. So I did walk the entire expo. I looked at all the booths from afar. I would have loved to have gotten closer into the booths and kind of dug around a little bit more.
Every single booth was cool. They had some really, really fun stuff. But wildly, wildly popular. I did manage to get into a booth that had creepy dolls.
And everyone knows I've got my creepy haunted dolls. Yeah. And now I've got a new haunted doll. So now I've got Sloane, my first creepy haunted doll.
And now I have Cordelia, my second creepy haunted doll. And I'll put a picture of her on TikTok. And we can put a picture of her here on YouTube too. Yes.
So we'll put Cordelia on there. Overall, I think I would like to go to it again, maybe when there's fewer people. Because the booths looked fantastic. I just started it only run for the one day.
Yeah. But I do have here, I'll give you some information. Because I know that not everybody that listens to a Sloane's in Utah. So it's the Audities and CuriositysExpo.com.
Spell out and Audities and CuriositysExpo.com. So they will be on Las Vegas on all these are Saturdays. Las Vegas on September 17th, Denver on October 1st, Portland, Oregon on October 22nd, Seattle, Washington on October 29th, Tampa, Florida on November 5th, Oklahoma City on November 19th. And if you're watching us on YouTube in the future, that is 2022.
Yes. So I think it was fabulous. Everybody in the state thought it was fabulous because they were all there. Except for Chad, he was golfing.
Yeah. I'm sorry, I missed it. I would like to go again, hopefully, and have fewer people there. They really need to run it two days.
They need to say there are so many people here that we're going to run on Friday and Saturday and Saturday and Sunday. That was my only issue. It was just too many people. Well, they're not complaining.
