Dee Lee is a comedian, media personality, and entrepreneur. He is a Philly native and has been in the entertainment industry for over 37 years. He is the founder of Philly’s iconic “Laff House” Comedy Club, and has ghostwritten and punched up award-winning material for some of comedy’s biggest names. Dr. James Peterson is the host of WURD’s evening program, Evening WURDS, which airs Monday-Thursday from 4pm-7pm ET. Dr. Peterson is also an educator, writer, and consultant. He is a columnist for The Philadelphia Citizen and has written for Fortune.com, Newsweek.com, The Guardian, The LA Times, Reuters, The Huffington Post, The Daily Beast, and The Grio. Dr. Peterson is also a professional wordsmith who has ghostwritten and edited projects for a variety of individuals and corporate entities across a wide spectrum of professions. Roxi Fab is a seasoned media professional, voice-over actress, model, and professional singer. She is the daughter of the legendary Philly radio DJ, Carl Helm. Roxi has been a voiceover actress for Radio ONE Philadelphia, hosted a radio show on Philly’s Favor 100.7 FM, and had an entertainment news segment on a radio station based in Louisiana. She is known for her magnetic personality, her passion for music, and her love for her listeners. Cedra “Ced Boogie” Walton is a comedian, writer, & filmmaker from Brooklyn, NY. Ced Boogie has worked with legendary director Jerry Bruckheimer and has produced multiple short films. Ced Boogie has done stand-up comedy at multiple venues across Philadelphia, including the “Boogie and Flo Show”, a comedy sketch she does routinely with fellow comedian, “The Big F.L.O.”, aka BLIS. They all join The Midday Break Room to join Tiffany Bacon in a panel discussion about the significance and history of Black comedy in America, and to also discuss the context of the book, "Black Out Loud" by Geoff Bennett, which details various interviews Geoff conducted with Black comedians about the significance of Black comedy in America, and the significance it has played in American culture.
