He was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame and Musicians Hall of Fame/Museum in 2006 and 2016, respectively. Thom sadly passed away in 2022 at the age of 79. He was announced as a Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee this week in the Musical Excellence Award category.
