Robbins, Jr., who is a charter member of the Frederick (MD) Alumni Chapter as well as its first Polemarch shares some of the rich history of the chapter and its service in the community. With mentorship programs spanning over two decades, the chapter has recognized and honored African American senior scholars in their local area, prepared young males for success in professional arenas and had attendees of their programs go on to serve as public servants in the community. The state of Indiana became the 19th state of the Union in 1816 and it founded Indiana University in Bloomington four years later... In the school years of 1910-11, a small group of Black students attended Indiana University. Most of them were working their way through school. The number of places where they might assemble was limited.
