𝗙𝗘𝗔𝗧𝗨𝗥𝗘𝗗 𝗦𝗘𝗥𝗜𝗘𝗦: The Men of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. 𝗧𝗛𝗜𝗦 𝗪𝗘𝗘𝗞 Rho Mu Mu Graduate Chapter West Side of Chicago, Illinois Chartered in 2011 On today’s installment of "The Male Perspective,'' Rho Mu Mu Chapter is represented by its current Basileus, Bro. Dagogo Obomanu III. On September 6, 2011, 25 men who believed there was a critical need for the fraternity to have a presence on Chicago's West Side came together to charter Rho Mu Mu. Over the years, the chapter has worked with neighborhood organizations to distribute "Back to School" supplies, fed meals to the unsheltered, helped clean up parks, and given away thousands of dollars in academic scholarships to high school seniors. On the evening of November 17, 1911, Omega Psi Phi was founded inside the Science Building (later renamed Thirkield Hall) at Howard University located in Washington, D.C. The founders were three undergraduates — Edgar Amos Love, Oscar James Cooper and Frank Coleman. Joining them was their faculty adviser, Ernest Everett Just. From the initials of the Greek phrase meaning, “friendship is essential to the soul“, the name Omega Psi Phi was derived. That phrase was selected as the motto.
