𝗧𝗛𝗜𝗦 𝗪𝗘𝗘𝗞 Tau Pi Graduate Chapter Columbia, Maryland Chartered in 1975 On today’s installment of "The Male Perspective,'' Tau Pi is represented by its current Basileus, Bro. Nicholas Meade and Vice Basileus, Bro. Earl Jefferson, III. Since 1975, the Central Maryland Ques have been actively working as servants to uplift those in the Columbia, Maryland area and beyond. Tau Pi has had a positive impact on the community over the years through initiatives including youth mentoring, school supply drives, and scholarships for high school students, among many other social action programs. On the evening of November 17, 1911, Omega Psi Phi was founded inside the Science Building (later renamed Thirkield Hall) at Howard University located in Washington, D.C. The founders were three undergraduates — Edgar Amos Love, Oscar James Cooper and Frank Coleman. Joining them was their faculty adviser, Ernest Everett Just. From the initials of the Greek phrase meaning, “friendship is essential to the soul“, the name Omega Psi Phi was derived. That phrase was selected as the motto.
