Black Mountain Institute (BMI) Podcast #57: "I Could Read the Sky" - 03/17/10

from Black Mountain Institute Podcast · host Studio Hyperset, Inc.

In this episode, Bennett Fellow Timothy O'Grady reads from his novel _I Could Read the Sky_. The novel is about an Irishman's migration to England in search of fieldwork and is illustrated with the work of _New Yorker_ staff photographer Steve Pyke. O'Grady's reading is interspersed with music from fiddle-and-gutar duo Martin Hayes and Dennis Cahill and the singing of Anie Meenaghan. Pyke's images of Ireland are projected throughout the performance, and those wanting to watch a video of the performance will be able to do so via a forthcoming video posted on the BMI Video Archive (http://blackmountaininstitute.org/news-and-events/video-archive.php) and on the "I Could Read the Sky" event page (http://blackmountaininstitute.org/news-and-events/events-archive/2009-10/sky/). The event was held March 17, 2010 in the UNLV Beam Music Center Doc Rando Recital Hall in Las Vegas, NV.
