The California based goth-folk trio formed when bassist Robert Levon Been and guitarist Peter Hayes met in high-school and later added English transplant Nick Jago. The band was originally named The Elements before renaming themselves after Marlon Brando's motorcycle gang in the 1953 film 'The Wild One. BRMC admitted a debt to the beat-generation naming their third LP 'Howl' after Allen\ Ginsberg's most popular work.. Oasis' Noel Gallagher wanted to sign the band his new Brother Records imprint in the late '90s. Their song 'Ain't No Easy Way' was featured in a 2005 episode of popular comedy show My Name Is Earl)
