Black Widow
from The Film Board Hosted by TruStory FM
The Film Board convenes in the Red Room to discuss Cate Shortland’s new MCU entry, Black Widow. It’s a packed house as Andy is joined by Kyle Olson from Marvel Movie Minute, Matthew Fox from the Superhero Ethics podcast, Craig Price from Matinee Heroes, as well as CJ Lindsey and Jordan Petersen for a spoiler-filled conversation. How popular was blue hair in the 90s? How great is our makeshift family of Natasha, Yelena, Alexei and Melina played by Scarlett Johansson, Florence Pugh, David Harbour and Rachel Weisz? What do we think about how Marvel handled Natasha’s dark backstory and the Red Room, not to mention the opening credits depicting essentially an abduction trade of young girls? Thoughts on the changes from the comics with Taskmaster and the Red Room? How stellar is Ray Winstone as the villain, even when his accent's a bit off? What do we think of the red dust solution? And with F9 having just opened, what’s with all these storylines right now that are all about family? It’s a fun film that enriches the MCU, despite delays from COVID and feeling overdue.
