Black Woman Heal was established by Lilada to increase prevention, awareness and healing efforts of sexual abuse throughout the African Diaspora. Lilada was presented in 2010 with the Nation Unsung Hero Award by Discovery Channel and Congressional Women's Caucus in Washington DC for her work with survivors.
