In this edition of POSTBURNOUT.COM Interviews…, we speak with drummer Blake Fleming of The Mars Volta and Dazzling Killmen fame. Last Tuesday, Blake dropped the physical version of his latest record “The Beat Fantastic.” Blake discusses the record, his book “The Book of Rhythm,” storytelling through percussion, and how his solo work differs from his work with bands in the first half. In the second, we talk with Missourian singer-songwriter Ian Fisher about his upcoming album “Go Gentle” which examines bereavement after the loss of his mother. We also discuss his time between Missouri, Vienna and Toronto and how those influenced his music, and his thoughts as a student of politics on the current state of affairs across the world.
