Blame The Lone Ranger

Originally Aired: August 1, 1938The Lone Ranger #860, "Blame The Lone Ranger," a sinister plot unfolds as outlaw Matt Klein and his gang deliberately frame the masked rider for their crimes. After witnessing the Lone Ranger on his distinctive silver horse, Klein has gang member Squint Porter don a mask and ride a white horse during stage robberies, ensuring witnesses will blame the legendary hero. When the Lone Ranger arrives at Sheriff Bill Abbott's office to offer his help in solving the holdups, he finds himself facing suspicion from Abbott, stage agent Jake Faust, and Wells Fargo investigator Ray Davis. Despite the Lone Ranger's attempts to reason with them about how the outlaws are getting information about gold shipments, the lawmen remain skeptical of his intentions.The situation turns dire when the very stage they were discussing arrives in town, its guard wounded and its gold stolen. The driver identifies a masked man on a white horse as the culprit, and suddenly the Lone Ranger finds himself the prime suspect. With Sheriff Abbott and his deputy Andy Symes preparing to pursue him, the masked rider must evade capture while somehow proving his innocence and exposing the real criminals.
