This week’s podcast comes to us from Detroit’s own Tom Newman . Most well known as Acid Pimp, Tom has been DJing and producing music for almost 20 years. By the late 1990’s Tom was a major headliner throughout the North America, and his consistant releases on Cheshire became highly sought after. It was around this time that he helped form D-records with Richie Hawtin , Rex Sepulveda , and Len Bartush as a sub label of M-nus . After having the opportunity to perform at Tresor Berlin in 2001, Tom became inspired to form Friction Detroit , which would surface as Detroit’s first all techno club night. He with the help from his close friend Chad Parraghi aka “ CFX ” hosted an incredible roster of Techno’s most well known artists from around the world such as Chris Liebing , Dan Bell , Regis, Function , Steve Stoll , Christian Wunsch , Tim Xavier to name a few. Tom recently returned with a weekly podcast at frictiondetroit.com , and a full schedule of new releases on Friction Detroit Records. Tracklist
