Blaze Street Music Presents - Music of A Lifetime - Ep. #9 - Madonna!

ALOHA! PLEASE LET ME KNOW HOW YOU FEEL ABOUT WHAT I'M DOING 👍🏾 I APPRECIATE YOU!It's the summer of 1983. I'm serving my 2nd tour in the US Navy at my duty station in Hawaii. My watch schedule at that time was a grueling schedule and it was during those times when I'd get off work late at night and couldn't sleep when I spent hours watching MTV on local cable TV. Let me tell you that for me, MTV became a bit of an addiction, especially during the late night hours because the programmers would play new, different, and exciting videos by unknown artists. During the day they played the top 40 artists like Michael Jackson, The Cars, Duran Duran and Lionel Richie. But at night, they all kinds of stuff but it was the dance music videos that I loved to watch. It was then when I first saw this....sassy, sexy, pretty eyed blonde in the videos dancing. She was fine, her groove would funky and her name was Madonna! Madonna was a brand new artist when she released her debut album, 'Madonna' in July of 1983. Her look was different, her voice was different, her attitude  was different,  and she could dance! Her music, the first song was "Holiday" became an instant hit in the clubs that I used to hang out at, clubs such as 'Cillys', 'Annabelles', and the enlisted club located on Hickam Air Force Base known as the 'Tiki Club'.  But it was her song named 'Lucky Star' that would get me hooked for a lifetime. That was over 40 years ago when my love affair with Madonna Louise Ciccone began. She's celebrating 40 years since her debut LP was released. and this release is entry #43 on my list of the 50th Greatest Albums and Records of a lifetime! Our relationship? Well, there was a time when I'd buy any and everything she released and even though that has changed over time, she's still one of my all-time faves and she's still one of the artists who remain on my bucket list.
