ALOHA! PLEASE LET ME KNOW HOW YOU FEEL ABOUT WHAT I'M DOING 👍🏾 I APPRECIATE YOU! Episode Notes for Music of a Lifetime - Episode #17 - The music of The Police & Sting This episode is about the #36 entry on my list of the 50th greatest albums and records of my lifetime. In this episode I’m going to be featuring the music of one of the most popular rock band’s in history, The Police, and their outstanding leader, Sting. The Police were an English rock band formed in London in 1977. For most of their history the line-up consisted of primary songwriter Sting (lead vocals, bass guitar), Andy Summers (guitar) and Stewart Copeland (drums, percussion). The Police became globally popular in the late 1970s and early 1980s. Emerging in the British new wave scene, they played a style of rock influenced by punk, reggae, and jazz. They’ve sold sold over 75 million records, making them one of the best-selling bands of all time. The band won a number of music awards, including six Grammy Awards, two Brit Awards—winning Best British Group once, and an MTV Video Music Award. In 2003, they were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.[9]. The Police would eventually disband in 1984 and Sting launched his solo career in 1985, his music being a excellent mix of rock, jazz, reggae, classical, new-age, and worldbeat. As a solo musician and a member of the Police, Sting has received 17 Grammy Awards. With the Police, Sting became one of the world's best-selling music artists. Solo and with the Police combined, he has sold over 100 million records. THANKS FOR LISTENING! I APPRECIATE YOU ALL! Call my studio hotline: 808-391-5394, leave me a message!
