This feels crazy. It feels almost unnatural. I'm excited about this. I came in earlier than I normally do, which is probably on time.
And I watched, I watched an episode from the U.S. every month on a review and I prepped for this because I was very excited. Because of course, you guys know, this is actually part two. Well, we'll get to what this shows about.
We'll get to the topic of the show, but this is part two. If you haven't done your homework, pause this right now. Ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta. Now as you know, this is part two. And you watch the content podcast, blessing and I, blessing downloaded the info of all the shenanigans that's surrounded by the con. But he would not give me any details of the con itself.
The con itself, the details of the meetup. And so I think this is gonna be our official review of magic. I think this is gonna be a lot of things. What is gonna be a lot of things.
I enjoy telling my side of the story myself, but I didn't feel only right without Mike. Because I spent an entire 24 hours with Mike, which is the long time. I was gonna run the uninterrupted. Uninterrupted.
It's me and Mike for a full day. Yeah, I couldn't get away from it. Don't you dare, don't you dare. So there was that, there was a meetup that we can talk about.
I was also going back to Bloomington, Illinois, so I went on for a day. We got some kind of podcast. I was about that too. I wanted to go.
I wanted to go. It was playing out one point, and then after we thought about it for a second, I looked at Greg. I was like, I was like, I was like. I was like.
I'm gonna bring my coworker, my coworker. This thing. The whitest coworker I have. The whitest coworker I have.
So he's right right now. And they're gonna be like, who is this man you brought? Is this your lover? Is this your lover?
I don't want him to be thought of as my lover. Yeah, you wouldn't be thought of as my lover. They wouldn't be like, oh, let's never call him a girl. He's bring home.
This is what I mean. This is crazy. You must be loved. And Mike is overly affectionate.
So it's not that hard. I think we got the wrong idea. Exactly. So I was like, let me not complicate it.
So on the podcast, when we talked about this part, it was really wonderful. It was awesome. You had a moment to carve out for your family. It's very, very important.
But when I asked it, it might go. And you said, no. I was like, oh, this is a good thing. Yeah.
I can tell Mike is so hurt by this. You have to talk about it. The moment I saw the Instagram story, I was like, fuck. I was like, fuck.
He's back in the cool outfit. Then I'm very jealous. I want to dress up. Then I have a question.
Okay. There's a moment there where you're dancing in the middle. But then they were throwing money. Do we talk about that?
Do we talk about that? You do that celebration? Like, where are you celebrating? Like Bill dance?
I wish I took a picture of it. Oh, like, toward the end of the night. $1 bills everywhere. Just money.
We got to be wearing all this. You shower me with $1 bills. That's my new goal. I love that.
That'd be equal to how many $1 bills people will throw at you. Where are you going to start? I'm going to start again at the beginning. I know you talked about how y'all got there.
You talked about the plane. You said that you didn't really want to recap it. I need to see that through Mike's eyes. Because blessing is, you know, when stories happen here.
People want trips. People want to know Mike. There are usually two perspectives. There's what happens.
And then there's Mike's version. So Mike, I want to start with you. Yeah. I mean, what an exciting moment.
Of course, you know, there's so many things to talk about. Big thank you to the magic content for inviting us out there. You know what I mean? For us to be able to go out and cover it and have some fun.
It was a big deal. But to start, right? I was really excited. You know, as you know, Nick, I always have a vision whenever we have these groups.
Yes. I want to make a vlog, right? My dream is to be a vlog superstar, right? I want to be like, you know what?
Everybody's your voice. No, Mike. If I need to vlog today, we're in Chicago, right? Like we don't do that.
Let me stop. Why don't you just stream me there. We should figure it out. You can just stream.
I don't want to do that. I just didn't want to interrupt people. We'll put that out. I think it would be okay.
I think it would be okay. And so, you know, there's always, whenever we get a group together, the first word out of my mouth is, are we going to be at the studio? Because in my mind, right? We all need a studio.
We take it over together. I'll say this before. I was like, oh, I was like, I was like, no, man. I don't want to directly to the airport.
I don't want to see you. That's the rule. That's the rule. I'm like, I will meet you there.
I'm like, we can take an Uber. I'm like very interested. I'm like very interested. I don't want people to see you in watch content from us.
They're only seeing, you know, around talking. Yeah, very, very, very out. Extraverted. Yeah, I can.
I'm very interested. I want my space. I want to like you. My favorite won't have my headphones on.
We know that. We know that. Go on. We don't talk to you.
I just want to say this. And so, this is number two for me. I'm just solo mic and bless. I know the rules, right?
I know bless on the plane. Like I have his space. I know that bless needs his space and deserves his space. I'm gonna do this.
But this trip was a little different. I'm like, but I'm like, oh, look, I'm like, there's not like, care about the surroundings, but around them, right? There's so much people, I'm just trying to get to point out. You just hear my, oh, no, I'm like, I'm like, I'm like, really?
Nothing smarter than being allowed in an airport. Yeah, exactly, exactly. Screening across the TSA security line, just having some fun. Well, let's ignore it, I got, of course, checked, you know, and I told bless, I was like, be aware, they usually check giant blocks of cards because you can't see through that, so they think it's a bomb.
Unless they got checked, you know what I mean? No, and give me talk about this before, but that would give me so much anxiety. Because I know how much you guys take care of your cards. Oh, do we start opening the box?
I was like, no, you can't. Don't start taking up the sleeves now. Get back and forth, get your prints on them, and that's just gonna stay in there forever. Yeah, no.
That's funny. And so I also had a special treat that I didn't tell blessing about, that I whispered to Roger, which was my first class upgrade, of course, you know, Joey's talking about it. Joey's talking about it. Joey's talking about it, if you are invited somewhere, you can take the free ticket and maybe you upgrade for more dollars, you know what I mean?
And so I looked at the plane, and this was the biggest plane that I was ever gonna go on. I don't take many trips outside of the US, so I'm never on these big jets that you see with the pods, multiple sections. They're a row in the middle, along with rows on the windows. That's crazy to me, right?
That's the biggest thing I've ever seen. And so I noticed, like, oh shit, there's pods. And I see all the cool YouTubers there in these pods. And I'm like, oh my God, imagine if I go to a pod.
And now I'm not going to France, I'm not going to Japan. This is a smaller ticket price. So like, you know, five hour flight. So I guess, you know what, because it was so big, it flew faster there.
It was only four or 15. On the way back, it was five. It goes against the wind. So it was only four hours, a little faster, a little faster.
So I got the pod up again, but I didn't tell Bless. And so I was like, why are you standing in the first section? We're section three. And obviously they're smiling laughing.
And this guy's looking at me and Bless. And I was like, what do y'all do when we're going? We're going to Magic Con. And they got immediately shook.
And he's like, oh, here's some nerds. But he's like, I like magic too. And we're like, we're not going to go. We're going to do it in the line.
Both of them in the line first-class. And so now as first-class is starting to go in. Bless him. Okay, well, I'm going to go stand over there.
And I'm like, no, no, no, you can go with him. You're his teammate. And I'm like, what did you say? I forget what I said.
Greg never breaks out. Greg never breaks out. He's like, there have been times where I'm going to the same place as Greg. So I'm like, I ever want to say preview of that.
And like Greg will be in first-class. We'll be in like group one. Yeah. He's got a little bit more traveling.
I'll be in group five. Yeah. I'll be in group five. I was very last group.
I was like, I'm group six or seven. I didn't know existed. And I was never talking to Greg. I'm like, all right.
I'll go stay on my part of life. I don't know if that is a hard and fast rule. I think it's more of a courtesy. Yeah.
Because if they see that you're born in your five, they technically can ask you. Well, they do not want to go. Yeah. You're flying with him.
You can go with his group. And we're like, really? We've never heard of that. You know?
And so we walk up together, share shit. I fucking scan it. Lesson's like, I'm with him. She's like, you know, I'm bored.
Let's have a great flight. And so it was awesome, right? And so I don't know if I told you about that time blessing you. I was in first class, right?
And so we get on the plane. And she goes first class and left. Yeah. And then I got to that guy, who's a lot of people.
Pops. And in my mind, bless him Nick. I opened it up to the pot thinking it was going to be a pot. You see all these videos, right?
Ryan's right here. He's on the plane without showering there. I thought, I would step to the pot. It'd be a larger seat that could lay all the way back when I'd have windows that would go down in between me and Blessed here, right?
No, no, just the row of the tiles that could lay down. There was no windows. There was no courtesy. Were you in the window?
Actually the first class? Were they the business? No, well this was as far forward as you could be. So it was literally one of those where you can kind of lean back.
You are in a software. They're sitting like 69. Yeah, it's not like that. It was a dude, dude, dude, dude, dude, dude, dude There was a lot guys with this old woman across the aisle, right?
So it's me on the middle left seat cuz there's four and two's right So it's me on the middle left along with it You're running next to me a lot guys with this old woman across the way and she's baffled that she's the first class You know, we're not supposed to be here. Yeah, she like me. I can't believe we're here I said miss you look good at it, and she started smiles. You died her and all that's it I'm like this is how we all deserve to fly a picture on exclusive item.
We need a book of my kids I think we like a little book that is a bunch of my sayings. We need a bunch of my sayings That's good. We need my sayings and we need the list the ongoing list of Mike's nicknames for his friends. Oh Oh, yeah, oh, yeah, we're all So Mike was everything you wanted to be.
No, I was mad Yes, as someone who has a lot of flight anxiety, you know, it's not really the it's more of just a tripping side He's nice like be able to have the seat before So that was a big deal for me So it's only worth it at the end and I had more fun at the end of the beginning because I was let down right cuz now I'm scared I'm awkwardly laying down with this guy at the same time. We're both like looking at each other like oh shit This is so weird and he's laying down on my down like just two points later next to each other At the end when I'm watching predator 2 and I'm falling laid back in my feet are up the best It was all worth it. Sure. And so I would have told bless at the end of us like you should go with someone get the two packets more comfortable for Not comfortable.
That's great. I should be called my crops And so first class was a great time to give you a hot towel awful food selection, you know, I mean just the worst food of your life And so that was my flight we get off the flights and here's the best part. Yeah, now me and bless it together The trip has begun and you know me we're getting an uber and I'm talking right in this uber driver. We're going back and forth Story but leave like leave blank the parts that I have to guess like for instance when we got in the uber and I just leave a blank And I will fill in my talk this guy.
You're like talk to your entire hour-long ride where you guys are I love talking to the uber driver. So we're going back and forth man. We got a bull's game. I think it's Friday.
No, no Mike It's Saturday Nick. I should not this man is driving all the highway now. He's on his phone like this like on the phone He's typing things and looking up Chicago things to do first while driving six the other highway. It's fantastic Did you explain to this gentleman that you have something to do is called magic on?
Oh, we so we were like Oh, we're heading to the convention tomorrow, but we're gonna be hanging out around the corner place like they're what's around there What can we do anything done was like oh, you guys here for the dentist of course and we're like what do you mean? He's like the corner place is gonna be a dentist and I brought somebody here who's here for that We're like no, we're here for a magic on. He's like magic the gathering If you like you wanted you to look into it to maybe get you to go to the dentist convention instead of He was like very fascinating. I went to a VidCon one time I think it was the first VidCon we ever got to where half of the convention so it was VidCon and the other half was the national fencing Association's like state championships, which is weird I should have lost in the dentist convention.
I was like, dude Look at there, but please try can't be a convention. Biggest you've ever seen massive and so now I'm talking to the guy But he's looking up, you know Charlie X is in the building like oh shit Charlie's here. That's crazy. That's over Oh, I'm sorry.
And so then we get to talk about hockey. I'm like, man I wish I could see a black ops game, you know, they got the World Cup going on right now He goes dude, it's on right now. The man ever seems to pull up the live feed of a hockey game flip his phone over and is actively watching the hockey game That's the wall driving out, okay, but man is actively driving 65 on the highway watching hockey game on the dashboard with me I'm like what have you done? Yeah, at this point that I would be like just let's just stop before the situation gets any worse Because that's a point he's gonna be the back seat with you guys He's turned it off.
He's fine with the perfect volume for us. It was all these different bits of like Chicago fire Chicago how you put it out the biggest big McDonald's America to us which was really cool. Oh yeah, yeah I got to the hotel. Yeah, I got to the hotel.
Yeah, I got to the hotel. I got to the hotel. Nice little stake dinner with the PR team. Yeah, it was fantastic And then afterwards we asked for recommendations, you know, we drove past River North which probably out there You know, there's different pockets of the city that's happening that's young that's not and we said hey We saw River North really hot right now people young people dancing having fun.
We kind of want that vibe And I asked these two gentlemen along with bless. I said what's the vibe wish we go and they pointed us to a bar bless Yeah, go to Rainbow best dive bar in Chicago. I don't know you we showed up the rainbow bar Nick and there was ten motherfuckers in the building It was a regular as I bar in like a I want to go to the river Everything I want to know when you're that right? It was like some secluded bar walking This is right with our people from Chicago.
These were journalists from another group and they were from Chicago I don't think they were picking up my vibes of like I want young hit maybe the bars a little too loud And you don't like that. Yeah, I would imagine and I don't want to stereotype I don't imagine that magic the gathering journalists. Yeah, don't know where the party's at We should have taken all the recommendations thrown in on right to River North If you if you drove past the club that was spilling over with the party, that's that's the vibe Yeah, I want to go to the river afterward for like one little drink. Yeah, you go to people there suggesting their favorite bar Right there go to bar.
It's like That's gonna be what my favorite bar is exactly. I don't I don't go out to party and you guys know that Do you want to talk to you? A lot of people that dinner. Yeah, they're like some people that were dead on polygon And like I was asking questions.
I was like, oh my god, I haven't had that anymore. Yeah, right? I was like, I still aren't Yeah, we went out to Rainbow and I don't get me wrong Midwest vibes good Like just good just like down home quiet American vibes people nice empty bar people there Everybody was smiling at one. I said there's two girls over there get ready.
I'm gonna talk to him. Yep 30 minutes later to talk to him Yeah, I'm trying to get the non-first before I walked up. You don't even get it. We're at the bar No, we were on a sofa.
They were on a nice little seat. I'm sitting next to each other on a sofa drinking our drinks And they're like in that corner. Yeah, like in kind of a booth talking to just the four of you in this place basically It's just Mike and bless we're just to homies talking to having some fun really connecting We're like we're gonna talk about it like Mike and bless fully together. You know packs these when we went together We had our moments, but I was able to tap up less.
I'm like, I'm going to this hot twitch con party I'll see you in a little bit, right? We would do some other things and we come back together. This was like no bless Yes, we don't know. It's not like pass right now.
I had to get you guys have to roll together It's like I'm sure you heard we went to a second bar because I remember the guy was going to rainbow There's this gold star bar. That's just a block away. So I look at bless now It's like a negative 14 out and I'm having the time of my life. Okay, finally I heard you buy a picture of working.
I heard you buy an appropriate thing Jack. I thought I'm gonna kill it and I was like No, I'm not gonna kill you know I didn't have any in the car. No, I had the car down everything that I didn't like I was the perfect way for you for that kind of Oh, I'm gonna perfect. I was like, I was like, I was like, I was like in the death of the sweater, right?
I'm just getting in the sweater for us. I have a question that is from Arc in the chat. Mike and bless This is what you said in the drink. I think you could have gotten away with sending them a drink.
I could have made it But it's not like that kind of I look at the bar. You know what I'm saying? At the bar top, right? Yeah, I would have to get up go to the bartender order them drinks then walk it over there myself Already got drinks there smiling high fun.
So she looked at me. I would look at her. I was like, hey, what's going on? I don't know ladies do it tonight.
That's how we're going to get the right choice. I think if there are two people sitting in the booth by themselves And join there. I think you let them know if you're at the bar and you can maybe have an organic way of being like Do you guys want to do some shots like that? That's always fun thing.
They can watch the bartender point the shot So everything seems like okay, and say okay, okay, I think you've got it. Okay, don't worry. We got it like that I'm going to the next bar, which is star bar right down the block seven minute ice cold walk blessings freeze in death unfortunately I'm like thriving in the winter cold. I'm having so much fun just experiencing it Then we get to rainbow bar or star bar then again Yeah, the pizza party though almost run the table in the pizza six I mean you walk in big bar then pool table and so from the back when you walk up to the back room They have like six pieces and I was like shit should I grab a slice?
That's like what? Don't grab them. I don't want to get sick right now. I'm back off the back off mark It's a walk around.
Of course they're hogging the pool table. Can we talk about pool table etiquette? Okay. Yeah, can you finish again?
Give the fuck out the way. We're trying to play cool. Yeah, I want to finish the game and immediately just win for another Hey, you gotta walk away for five minutes if no one else comes then you can come back You walk you go get some drinks right you clearly see so much stand up here. I'm looking at the chalk What I'm looking at you you finish again get out the way this one pool table.
Okay, I would have gone Next You love Yeah Okay, yeah, she took us to a bar that's clearly a summertime bar. Yeah, it was beautiful. Also outdoors are all cargo containers lining the outside of it I've been cut open to have like windows and cool standing areas This place was called recess and I promise you during the Chicago summers that place pops. Oh, yeah That's what you want to be as recess not crazy for a bar freezing cold Thursday night in Chicago, right?
So she you fuck this Okay, this is the end that's just fine. What time you want to go tomorrow. Let's get some sleep. We'll recap in the morning Okay, we got some good Like you get that moment on the next day.
Yeah, and I'll tell you what let's back up for some So what's the itinerary for magic on do you guys have to be a things are there? Are there like do you have appointments for medical? I think we just had the dinner with the other time We knew about the dinner. We also knew that there's a big magic on ceremony happening on day one That is kind of like the announcement and the welcome and they were like hey You definitely want to miss that that's what we're gonna announce this big cool thing.
We're like alright awesome And so I think we can announce that now we can talk about it for a moment, right? Yeah, so I think the big thing that I've been doing last year they've been doing a lot of collaborations with a They're doing and Greg got excited through that and I got excited through like fall out and found fantasy in doing doing so the only Announcerary medical was for avatar I was really cool. Yeah, cool. No, I'm gonna bear it.

Yeah, I think that's probably what they lined up with I mean, this is a big roll out because it's gonna be the end of the year too So in June you get final fantasy which all the you know Tam the nerds are excited for right there bring all the final fantasies underneath one roof for all the different cards Which is awesome? Then we'll roll into of course you're gonna be on with our last airbender at the end of the year different packs in between It's gonna be really dope here for me. Can you mix those packs in with a normal deck or is this how does that work?
You have to say like hey, we're followers playing with the falling deck. No, it's just kind of a theme kind of fun Yeah, I think before they're more separate before they but I think after a while They're like it's a lot to manage and I think it's probably better as far as getting people in because like I think they're like I'm gonna buy the avatar set. Yeah, play magic. Yeah, so it's way easier to buy that.

Yeah, it's a little early, but I'm going to be really cool convention hours to Nick the convention show floor 10 to 7 I'm not going to explore show floor. We're underneath in the belly of the beast. Yeah, we're all the tables are meant to go down Open till midnight crazy. So they're like hey, the show floor is closing You can go down and play as much as you want till midnight and fucking everyone's down there playing games train.
It was so sick So we wake up. We meet at the bottom of the hotel. We walked McDonald's this right next to us real quick to grab some breakfast That's McDonald's ever. It was a great McDonald's meal panel.
It's a light fluffy. Yeah, that's where it was found. They knew they were like We're two blocks from HQ. We're two blocks from the biggest McDonald's ever.
We got put on for our city and they put on Yeah, no different to the biggest McDonald's ever right next to the convention. They know it's a downtown. Oh, it was like close to our hotel Is it good? No, no, this is like going to just a corner McDonald's.
Um, but we want to do it. I was like, okay, we're gonna make it. We get to the convention center. We were over.
We get out and immediately play the game of all right. Who's here for magic and who's it's I'm not a hard one. Not our game. Not our game.
You look at like a man who's like a nice jacket. You know, like beautiful teeth. You know, like, okay, that's a dentist. You look at the right and just see people back back.
And you see the backpacks and backpacks and backpacks on you. You're like, all right. That's a day one of not showering for days. Yeah, so we follow where we see the magic players.
We can find We're gonna defend them. Yeah, that was good. You were there for a day. I was there for two days.
Okay, let me tell you what. Thirty five cents. I'm telling you. It was very nice in there.
Everybody was clean. It was good. There are quite people watching their hands. I've got a number of people's hands full of city.
And so work on that. That's gonna happen as you know, Andy has that little lanyard of Purell. You gotta do it. Oh, you gotta do a fist bump.
I try. People for some reason don't have a fist bump anymore. I'm fucking up. Can I talk about it?
Like, yeah, this one people don't accept my handshake. I come from up here. Yeah, normally when I want less because I want one of these we need to do that. Or I want one of these.
Come in. When I come up here, people go, Oh shit. I just shit. That first then we might hug.

I was getting here. I want to do the handshake first. It was my tension that LeBron James has a handshake. Every single person has a difference.
I would like I look at the incident. If we all showed up at the exact same time, I would stand at the door and make it all do the same. Everybody would do the high five before we walked in. So I'll figure out a way where I listen to get the gate close.
And then I walk to the front door on me too. And you have to do the high five. This is what you do. You do it in the meeting.
All right, Mike, you're up and you just walk around. This is good. I like this is good. I like that.
So you go to magic. So are you catching games now? I want to initiate a game of magic. So step up.
I'll get there. I just want to shout out the fact that me, Mike, as we're going to say, how big it is going to be as we're walking toward it. Yeah, but we didn't know, like, well, the convention is though, right? Like, I'm like, I'm like, man, there's a line.
Yeah, because we knew there were both conventions a year. Also, it's like, hey, this is people in Chicago. They're like, that's better going. Is this like the con for magic?
This is one of three. There's three a year. It's all around. Yeah.
So there's one Vegas. There's one Atlanta. Yeah. So like, you get them in different locations throughout the year.
But we were just like, all right, it's going to be small. It's going to be huge as a rock. And we're like, oh, I'm like, yeah, there's so many people here. It didn't feel that way.
You would get into the show floor. Yeah. And you also realize because we also knows two floors, you get to the hall and you're like, oh, man, the show for a master. There's a lot of people.
Then we walk downstairs and we see a sea. Okay, can we bring up that hall? If I pan over, it is a just, there you go. That's insane.
All tables. So that's like a back room and there are tables and seats everywhere. And there are people playing at every single hour all along there. It was jam packed.
It was unbelievable. Is this, I assume a lot of these games are just for fun. Is there a range like bracket competition? So there's a pro tour up top.
I watch the pro tour. They're nasty. They're nasty. Yeah, the pro tour super sick.
So they start off. It's half and half. First half is draft. So you're not bringing in your own stuff.
You're similar to a blessing does where they give you packs and then you have to quickly make a deck out of the pack that you've received, right? So there's no strategy of like, oh, there's my pre strategized deck that I'm bringing in. No, you got to make it right there on the spot and then they have a second half. We bring in your pre-made deck and say I barely got by five and three today.
No, so hot. Oh, and four. Oh, that's crazy. And then I watch the finale at the end on YouTube because I guess live on YouTube and Twitch.
Fucking epic. Well, you got to go watch this. The kids do a massive math problem to see if you can defeat the other kid. They got a mere match of the both same decks going back and forth at each other.
It was awesome. The pro tour stand. The pro tour stand. We talked about what we did.
Yeah. I mean, let's just Nick McCormick center is massive. This is the biggest invention center. I think ever.
I mean, truly. I'm not saying it's fucking massive. I've got to tell you. Stop seeing the dentist.
I'm like they're the dentist. I'll be real. I don't think that it's coming like that. I mean, I think I'll give you an eighth of this good medicine center corner.
I don't expect in like tens of thousands. There's a couple of miles. We got dropped off in the front. We had to walk for a mile across the bridge that went over a highway to the back half of the place.
And then when we arrived there, it was massive. Stunning top floor of show floor. They had either drift, little go-karts. You could race here.
What do they call those RC track go-karts? Is that what they are when they're on the pre-determined path? And then they're like super fun. They had that just miles of tables for people to play, food, vendors, and then downstairs to belly of the beast is ticketed play where you can pay to play.
And they'll give you like a bunch of decks and cards to make up for what you've paid for. And so when we. Yeah, they have just like regular play and they're like organized and happening. And so bless is reading through.
He's like, oh, I want to play commander and I was like, no, bless. Let's play together. Like we're here together. Let us not found two headed giant is a magic format where it is to be to and I was trying to talk about it is like Mike hadn't played two at a time before and like not at the rules are super complex.
You have to understand. I mean, yeah, I mean, yeah, but I know I play friends. You know, different rules. We're taking our turn at the exact same time.
We share life and stuff like you want to do it. I'm like, oh, yeah, that sounds fun. So we can only we do it. We go up.
It's a whole process. I don't need to get into it. But there's a technical piece where they're on a pass. It's over the past.
It's over the past. Yeah. So like basically we had to talk to people like people help us actually sign up because it wouldn't work. We got tournament and play organizers everywhere.
There was never time where you would have a problem that couldn't be solved. You walk up to this massive look at that downstairs underbelly. Imagine where it's this massive pillar of just help, right? So you can walk up there.
You can sign up. They'll organize you on what table you need to go to. And so we walked up. They signed us up right away.
They're like, be back at one. And we came back. We came back. There was hundreds of people gathered around for just our tournament to play not to mention the thousands of people downstairs already playing other formats.
And so the format was two headed giant chaos raft. Draft your draft. I know that sounds like a bunch of gibberish, right? And we didn't know what those words were down.
We sit down and basically in a regular draft, right? They'll give you a bunch of packs of things. I don't want to either just prerelease and get a bunch of gibber packs open and then make a deck in the 30 minutes that we have here chaos raft means that you are given a bunch of different packs from different expansionsions that aren't really supposed to play together well, right? Like you are just getting random cards exactly you got to cobble it together.
But it's also draft your draft. And so the way we're doing it is they dump a bunch of packs on a table and then each team at a time picks a pack. It's like, all right, I like this one with a dinosaur. I'm gonna pick a dinosaur pack and the next people are gonna be like, all right, we'll do the foundations because we know like there's the cards in there.
All right, let's do a vampire. So you're just picking random shit based off of like how the pack looks. I'm gonna take two of it. It's like, it's like, it's like me and I'll be like, all right, one for you, one for me.
Yes. Like, you want your dinosaur. All right, let's get that. Okay, I like this black and my deck.
Let's go on and I'll do that, right? We're trying to dice together. We then dratter our packs and then we open them and now it is we have to make sounds cool. Oh, no, I just didn't want it.
I just didn't want to get that. I get it. I feel like you do it. I'm talking a little bit.
That's my favorite part of the game is that I did that for him. So I look through. I don't think it's a process based separate out of color for the legendaries. Look for like what we have.
All right, Mike, I think you're gonna be good with a red. Oh, yeah. And then I think I want black blue because we don't have so many cards. We're limited on what we can really do.
We'll try to put cards together. For this one, you have like at least 40. I believe it's 40 or more, but I might just be 40. Yeah, but yeah.
It's 40 cards in the deck. So do that we're then waiting for that. where the tournament actually gets started, because you have time to build, but then after what everybody's done, we play like a bunch of three matches against two other, but against three other teams. Take it, so Blessing can go by prizes.
Exactly, yeah, take it from the line. So we build, we finish building, and then we wait for it to get started, and then we wait, and then we wait. And for some reason, I don't know what went wrong, but I think the tournament, for some reason for this tournament, organization was off. And we waited for me, it felt like two hours, just sitting there, wasting time.
We made friends with the work sitting around. Because everybody's like, what the fuck is happening? And something was just off, we end up playing Commander with our own decks with the people around us, trying to kill time. It was fun, guess what?
One people in the Midwest, very nice people. Very kind, very fun to talk about. Like those assholes in L.A. Exactly, no.
But then also, magic people together. It's also the gathering. It's the gathering. It's the gathering.
I don't have a different gathering, but this was our gathering. What are you talking about? We're talking about the gathering. I was like, nevermind.
I can't even say what else they get. You can't just say you're going to gather. He's like, but I have a great connotation. Yeah.
We're talking about sex stuff. My only sex first, but then, yeah, there's that. No, man, I'm in the middle of the night. The Midwest.
I'm going to gather in real quick. We're going to gather in real quick. But everybody was super fucking nice, and super fucking awesome. We made tons of friends with people.
But finally, it was time to go. Finally, the things started. We played against the team. And let me tell you, playing 2v2 with Mike, such a fucking fun time.
It was like, again, kind of new work to the game. Obviously, I'm new work to the games. I'm going to learn recently. And Mike is like, you kind of re-endering into that world and have your way, right?
So I think there's just like this baby-like wonder. Good job, I wonder. That's like, oh man, we are playing this game. We are working together.
