Intro What does the word meek mean? The Greek word is translated ‘Praus.’ ‘great strength under control.’ Characteristics of the Meek 1. Considerate of others Romans 12:10 ‘Be devoted to one another in love. Honour one another above yourselves. 2. Sweet tempered Ephesians 4:26-27 – ‘In your anger do not sin; do not let the sun go down on you while you are still angry, and do not give the devil a foothold.’ 3. Humble-minded Philippians 2:3 ‘Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourself,’ 4. Courage 2 Timothy 1:7 “for God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self- control” 5. Strong in gentleness Proverbs 25:15 ‘Through patience a ruler can be persuaded, and a gentle tongue can break a bone.’ Finally The meek will inherit the earth to come, (when Jesus returns) and they will inherit the earth as in right now. The meek inherit Jesus who is the greatest inheritance we can have on the earth right now.
