Blind Hunter, Tech, and Trust | Spokane News

When vision loss nearly ended his hunting dreams, Tom Perrigo teamed up with retired Army drill sergeant Luke Austin to reinvent the game. Using a scope camera that streams live video to a tablet, Austin guided Perrigo’s shots—turning tech and trust into triumph. After weeks of practice, navigating permits, and even passing a bear ID exam, they pulled off a flawless hunt. The moment Perrigo fired, it wasn’t just about the kill—it was about reclaiming his passion. Now, they’re already planning for elk season, proving that with grit, teamwork, and innovation, you can rewrite the rules—and still find your way back to what you love.
