El secretario de Estado de EE.UU, Antony Blinken, ha comenzado una gira por Oriente Medio en medio de los temores de que el conflicto entre Israel y el grupo islamista palestino Hamás se intensifique y se extienda a la región tras los acontecimientos de esta semana. Blinken visitará Turquía, Grecia, Jordania, Catar, Emiratos Árabes Unidos, Arabia Saudí, Israel, Cisjordania y Egipto. Su visita se produce en unos días álgidos, tras la muerte del número dos de Hamás en Beirut y un ataque del Estado Islámico a Irán que dejó 86 civiles muertos. Y es que el asesinato presuntamente por parte de Israel del dirigente de Hamás, Saleh al Arouri, ha provocado la reacción del grupo chií Hizbulá, que este jueves . destruyó todos los equipos "de espionaje" de un puesto militar israelí, en uno de los siete ataques reivindicados por la formación armada . En respuesta, el Ejército de Israel atacó posiciones de Hizbulá en el Líbano.
