Blizzard Warning | New Hampshire Weather 6 PM

from The New Hampshire Weather Podcast

Good evening! I'm Aaron Jolly. And welcome to the New Hampshire Weather Podcast for Monday, February 23rd. Folks, that nor'easter is still throwing punches along the coast. Blizzard warnings remain up for Rockingham and Strafford counties. Gusts hitting 45 miles an hour. Visibility under a quarter mile. If you're anywhere near the Seacoast right now, you're not driving.. You're guessing. Heavy snow and blowing snow continue through 5 P.M. Another inch or two could pile on. And those 10 to 15 foot waves? Minor coastal flooding is possible this afternoon. Roads near the shore could get splashed. After 7 P.M., winds shift northwest but still gust near 30 miles an hour. Blowing snow sticks around. By midnight though.. Rapid improvement. Skies start clearing like someone flipped a switch. Now push inland toward Concord and the Lakes Region. You dodged the worst of this. Light snow, gusts topping out around 25 miles an hour. Manageable. Up in the White Mountains, same story. Light stuff, nothing dramatic. Temperature wise, the whole state lands in a tight range tonight. Southern New Hampshire drops from 28 degrees today to about 16 overnight. Central sits right there too. The Whites dip to around 14. Cold enough that any slush on the roads turns to black ice by bedtime. You'll want to take it slow. The week ahead starts with a plot twist. Tuesday brings brilliant sunshine.. And brutal cold. Single digit lows statewide. Then Wednesday morning, light snow sneaks back in during the commute. Maybe an inch or two. Thursday and Friday warm gradually into the upper 30s with some sun mixed in. But Saturday? That's the prize. Highs pushing 46 degrees. Almost feels like a preview of March. I'll be watching the overnight clearing. Charge your phone and let the plow guys do their thing tonight. That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow. Take care!
