Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni's government made the decision due to the growing popularity of Bitcoin, according to Deputy Finance Minister Maurizio Leo. However, past attempts by other nations, such as India's heavy taxation on digital assets, resulted in a significant drop in trading volumes, as investors moved to offshore platforms to avoid the taxes. The transfers, labelled by Arkham Intelligence, went to unknown wallets that were not linked to crypto exchanges, with no indication that Tesla plans to sell. The wallets appear to be new and are not known to be associated with crypto exchanges.
