Bloodline Patterns (Part 2)!

Memory Verse: They answered and said to Him, “Abraham is our father.” Jesus said to them, “If you were Abraham’s children, you would do the works of Abraham - John 8:39 NKJV Bible Text: Leviticus 17:11 NLT 11. For the life of the body is in its blood. I have given you the blood on the altar to purify you, making you right with the Lord. It is the blood, given in exchange for a life, that makes purification possible. INSPIRATION: Today, we shall consider another feature of Abraham’s life that ran into Isaac's and Jacob's. Abraham lied about his wife's identity (Gen. 20:2). When he lied, he sowed a seed that germinated in Isaac, who also lied about his wife (Gen. 26:7,9), and this germinated seed produced to its fullest in Jacob, who lied to secure his father's blessing (Gen. 27:19-20, 24). Notice that whilst Abraham and Isaac lied to get away from a difficult situation, Jacob lied to secure a future that could have come to him anyways by divine orchestration. And each of these acts left a crack with serious consequences. Can you see how Abraham’s lying seed established a pattern in his bloodline? We must be careful and conscious of our actions as they are potent seeds that bear transgenerational fruits. Could this be why God changed their names to separate them from their lying nature and bloodline? So Abram became Abraham (Gen. 17:5); Jacob became Israel (Gen. 32:28). Although, Isaac's name was not changed, there's a new bloodline God wants to bring you into in Christ. It's a new order that separates you from the negative old bloodline of your family's negative history. Paul says eloquently, "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new" (2 Cor. 5:17). Be the new! TODAY'S TAKE HOME: You've been covenanted and adopted into a new bloodline in Christ that separates you from your past. Your old negative nature ceases to control you. The grace to overcome has be impacted in you and Christ's DNA now runs in your veins. See the new, embrace the new, become the new! PRAYER: O Lord, thank You for adopting me into Your family's bloodline. I receive grace to internationally live a purposeful and upright life that is characterised by truth. The nature of a new creation is now formed in me and I live daily by the laws of this new order and bloodline, in Jesus name.
