Bloody Mary | Paranormal Podcast This episode we finally tackled one of the most universally known paranormal games in existence — Bloody Mary — and it turns out there's a lot more to it than just a dark bathroom and a dare, because we dug into the three historical women who might actually be behind the legend, from Queen Mary I burning 280 people at the stake, to Mary Queen of Scots having a genuinely chaotic life that ended with a botched beheading, to Elizabeth Bathory literally bathing in her victims' blood to stay young. We got into the science of what your brain actually does when you stare at a mirror in the dark for too long, why 40 percent of people in a controlled experiment started seeing monstrous beings in their own reflection, and whether any of that actually explains away the six encounters we covered — including a girl who came out of the bathroom with scratches that weren't there when she went in.
