Bloody Sunday Remembered

from Podcast For A Lost Nation · host Jerry Gallagher

March 7th was the 56th Anniversary of Bloody Sunday in Selma, Alabama  when Alabama State Police joined by a local Posse beat Civil Rights Marchers mercilessly as they crossed The Edmund Pettis Bridge in Selma.  The Terribly Violent Spectacle was captured by Television Cameras and was broadcast all over America leading to an increased willingness on the part of President Lyndon Johnson and the United States Congress to pass Significant Civil Rights Legislation.
