Interview with Shallynn Johnston Driven to inspire a wide audience through education and beautiful hair color, Shallynn began her career apprenticing in a small salon in 2002. Quickly identifying with hair color Shallynn joined AVEDA in 2004 where she held many roles including educator and creative director all while mentoring future industry professionals. Shallynn has also had the pleasure of working behind the scenes at New York Fashion Week and many global AVEDA hair shows. Her most notable accolade was winning Behind the Chair’s Big Shot Hair Colour Award for North America in 2016. Shallynn joined Dyson in 2018 taking on a beauty sales role while working behind the chair. Utilizing her passion for training and education, Shallynn moved into a North America Beauty Education role in 2020 supporting Canada, the USA and Mexico. Currently, Shallynn is the US Marketing Manager for Pro Beauty.
