Today's guest is an interesting one. As you all know, I usually talk to blue collar trades people or advocates, but my definition of the skilled trades extends far beyond that. Basically, anything that requires some form of formal education that isn't a typical 4 year college. So I sit down with Mike Roberts, a 32 year veteran in software coding, and founder of San Diego Code School. Mike had an interesting journey to get to where he is today, mainly coding as a hobby. He went to college for accounting, although by his own admission probably spent more time DJing. But it wasn't long before he realized that accounting was not his idea of success. After jumping from job to job after college he found his way back to the tech space and built his own success around that. This episode switches from BLUE collar to NEW collar and shows you yet another career path that can also be considered a skilled trade.
