Blue is the New White #89 - Gord King, CAREERS: The Next Generation

Today we're talking to our first member of CAREERS: The Next Generation, Mr Gord King. Make sure to catch our second episode with Ryline Monkman on April 30th! Gord started out on the traditional path, graduating highschool, and going right to college for business. Even though his dad was the school's shop teacher. Gord didn't really have an interest in pursuing the trades in high school or thereafter. He would much rather rock out with his fellow band members. He tried different things like managing EB Games, and writing mortgages, but didn't like that path. He switched gears and got an opportunity with Skills Alberta as an event planner. Over the next several years he had an opportunity to work closely with kids in skilled trades competitions and was blown away by everything he saw. Which then led him to CAREERS. Now Gord is able to realize his passions helping kids to connect with their future success by providing them with opportunities in the trades.
