Blue Jays Chase Wild Card vs Tigers | Toronto Blue Jays News

Toronto Blue Jays are clinging to a wild card spot, just one game behind the Guardians with 12 games left — and tonight’s three-game series opener against the surging Tigers could be pivotal. Despite trading away key arms like Skubal and Mize, Detroit’s been on fire lately, riding a four-game win streak. The pitching duel features Blue Jays’ Troy Melton (2.42 ERA) vs. Tigers’ Jose Soriano (3.48 ERA), both throwing in the upper 90s. Watch for Tigers’ power hitter Riley Greene (20 HR, 71 RBI) and rookie phenom Kevin McGonigle (.272, 17 HR) as they look to steal momentum from a Blue Jays team riding high after beating the Orioles.
