Blue Jays Leverage Bibee's Meltdown | Cleveland Guardians News

Toronto Blue Jays pounced on Tanner Bibee’s shaky start, erupting for four runs in the fifth to crush the Cleveland Guardians 6-3 and close the wild card gap to just half a game. With Toronto now holding the season series tiebreaker, Cleveland’s playoff hopes are hanging by a thread — especially after Bibee surrendered five earned runs and walked five batters, snapping his three-game quality start streak. The Guardians’ offense couldn’t bail him out, offering the worst run support among qualified starters. Though they briefly cut the lead to two in the sixth, Toronto added an insurance run in the ninth to seal it. Now, with a brutal four-game set against Detroit looming, Cleveland must find answers fast or risk missing the postseason entirely.
