Continuing through our Fatherhood season in this month of June , we hope that you all so far have had a diverse look on what fatherhood means to black men . Our previous two guest gave us a great start to our season , and this next guest I can assure you didn’t disappoint . #BMVT audience … let’s bring to the vent table on today our good friend Dr. Benny Washington, Jr. 🌱 Dr. Benny Washington, Jr. truly has a remarkable resume padded with many accomplishments over his lifetime: - B.S. (Biol.)-Tennessee State Univ. (1975) - M.S. (Biol.)-Tennessee State Univ. (1979) - Ph.D. (Biochem.)-Atlanta Univ. (1985) - Has taught numerous courses in his professor career (Mammalian Physiology, Physiology & Pathophysiology, General Physiology, Systemic Physiology, Experimental Physiology) - During his tenure at Tennessee State University, he trained more than 25 students with Masters Degrees, 2 students with Doctoral Degrees, and more than 10 students with undergraduate thesis - Involved in the implementation of the Ph.D Program in the Department of Biological Sciences and trained the first Ph.D student in Biological Sciences - Held membership in several professional organizations: Society of Neuroscience , Southeastern Pharmacology Society , Society of Cell Biology , & The American Clinical Society With all of these achievements and more, Dr. Benny remains a true humble soul . He vents with us today about his experience with fatherhood and how training and guidance from his father helped him to be who he is and aided him in raising his own son . There are 4 generations total : Dr. Benny Washington, Sr., Dr. Benny Washington, Jr., Benny Washington III, & Benny Washington IV.
