Good Morning Nashville! ☀️ Today we get into the last episode for our season titled “Music & Entertainment” on Black Men Vent Too . Our goal for this season was to give Nashville an understanding of what goes on in the minds of local rap artists , DJs , and musical minds in our city . Nashville is labeled with country music being the pinnacle genre , but there are many different styles of music that are in this city . We talk heavily throughout this season on the good and bad that’s associated with the music industry, and what black men struggle with while being a part of such a competitive environment . Bringing to the vent table today Mr. Shawn Lewis , a DJ born and raised in Nashville , Tennessee and goes by his stage name “DJ Perm” 💿 . DJ Perm began his love for the turntables about 2 years ago . He vents with us today on how the quarantine from COVID really sparked his creativity into wanting to venture off in the DJ’ing field . Mr. Lewis talks with us about the importance of music , how it can change the energy in the room , and shares with us small do’s and don’t’s that every good DJ should know . A lot of people don’t give the respect deserved for the DJ , not knowing that he is the one who keeps the night going .
